"Really enjoyed the village atmosphere here, the friendly staff and relaxed setting. Having worked in Epsom in previous years it's quite nice to come back and enjoy a decent coffee and catchup. Highly recommended!" :
Good coffee, friendly staff and peaceful environment. I especially enjoy the courtyard out the back.
Ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms - They didn't taste normal. All you could taste is sun dried tomatoes and the mushrooms were so watery. Had a few bites and stopped eating it. The Pumpkin ravioli was alright, the sauce tasted better. There was not much filling. My friend ordered the garlic chicken - said it was very dry. Good atmosphere but wouldn't go back for dinner.
Good food and Service. Outdoor area had a problem with flies the day we visted, but that's probably the same as any outdoor cafe setting in Auckland right now. We only had coffees and cakes this time with the Kids, but on other occasions we have had breakfast which has been of good quality.
This is located in the heart of Mt Eden Village. The store front is deceptive as when you enter and walk through the cafe is much larger than expected and then opens out to a spacious courtyard. In my opinion the decor needs some updating, especially the outdoor area as it seems untidy and a bit unclean. There are quite a few birds around looking for food this could be controlled by putting some netting over the top of the area. The food is OK. The portions are large but the flavor is lacking with some dishes.
My chicken salad was delicious, but the iced mocha was a little too chocolatey and I couldn't taste the coffee enough. However, the service and atmosphere was really good, so overall it was a great lunch!
Went there for a date. Sat on the patio. They never acknowledged our presence. We went back to the front to get some menues. Than waited for the waiter. She passed by and ignored our eye contact. Eventually got up and left after 40 minutes. And a bit pricey for my taste.
Ironique is our go-to Local. They serve breakfast right throughout the day. Also it has a huge outdoor area out the back which is a drawcard. We only ever go during the day, so can't comment on the dinner menu - but the breakfast/lunch menu is varied and well thought out, and the pricing is on par with other central Auckland cafes.
Amazing, my friend and i went for brunch and ordered the vege eggs bennie and the farmhouse breakie and share each dish. We were lucky enough to be sat right next to the kitchen and watch all the food be brought out amd our mouths were watering at everything. Once our food arrived it was spectacular i have never had such a delious meal in my life we both left talking about the meals and have told plenty of people to go there. The only down side was the staff were a little overwhelmed with the rush of people and didnt seem very friendly but understandably when your trying to serve 60+ people all at once. 10/10 for me
We had dinner there on Wednesday 14th September. I had the Twice Cooked Pork Belly and it was absolutely delicious. Moist, tender and beautiful crackle and mash !! Will definitely be back soon :-
