You never know what you're going to get when you stay at a non-chain hotel. But this place was absolutely amazing! Check in process was quick and staff was very friendly. The rooms seem to be recently updated with new amenities and are very clean. Bed was very comfortable, pillows were not cheap and small like other hotels. Location was perfect and you can walk to anywhere downtown. I need a fan to sleep, the rooms here have ceiling fans which I never see at chain hotels. My wife was teasing me about how excited I was to see a ceiling fan in the room.

Very clean room, easy check in with pleasant staff. Comfy pillow top bed - we stayed on the second floor overlooking the patio area   The weather was nice enough to leave the windows open & the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that people were smoking on the patio sadly - our room ended up stinking like an ashtray I’m a former smoker  just quit in May so I get it but seriously they shouldn’t allow smoking in an area where the other guests will have to put up with it. Other than that a pleasant stay

Stayed at this hotel while we explored Old Town Cottonwood for the weekend. Perfect location and very comfortable rooms. Yeah they are on the smaller side but they are nicely updated and have everything you need. Sure it’s an old building with narrow stairs but that’s part of the charm. If you want a new cookie cutter boring hotel don’t stay in old town.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Iron Horse. Very clean and updated. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the courtyard.  Complimentary Starbucks coffee every morning  was a nice plus.  The shower was excellent.  Great water pressure! We played a game of backgammon in the courtyard. The only thing I didn't care for is the smoking in the courtyard.  Yuck. People think they are outside and it wouldn't bother us, but it did. It's totally enclosed so the smell is right there.   All in all we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Loved this place. We stayed here on our way to Sedona. Easy to find. Clean &  comfortable. Perfect for visiting the small shops in town too. Starbucks coffee machine was EXACTLY what I needed too. Thank you so much for accommodating our late arrival as well.Rooms: 5/5

Wonderfully kept and updated historic property right in Old Town Cottonwood. We usually stay at one of the big-name national chains, so thought staying here was a bit of a risk, but we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other couples. We stayed here for a milestone Anniversary and were not disappointed with any aspect of our stay. Front desk staff was welcoming and pleasant, both at check-in and at check-out. The room was VERY quiet it looked out over the parking lot in back, with views of the snow-covered hills of Kindra Heights, spacious, and comfortable. The furnishings and bathroom fixtures had been tastefully updated.

Loved my stay at this retro Inn!  My room was  extremely clean, comfortable, and cozy!  The courtyard is inviting and adds a special touch! The facility has been rennovated, to be functional, yet retain the "motor in" feel of the past.  Perfect combo and great location!

I honestly loved everything about this hotel! The location is right in the heart of Cottonwood, so you can easily walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms are really nice, bed is super comfy, and I love the little private courtyard they have. They also offer complimentary coffee from a Starbucks machine just for the guests!  The room that it was set up in was also quite pleasant. I was a solo traveler and I felt very safe here. Was on the 2nd floor, and I kind of liked how the 2nd floor rooms had their own staircase your room + one other room. I had no issues with noise or any disturbance. I would highly recommend staying here! And I will also be staying here again. Oh! And check out the Jail Trail that's right across from this hotel. Nice easy walk through nature :  Rooms: I think it says something when you can walk barefoot in a hotel room‍ Nice and roomy - mini fridge, table and bench, ceiling fan, walk in shower, very comfortable bed and pillows.  Safety: I never once did not feel safe.  Walkability: You can easily walk to anywhere in downtown Cottonwood- which is what I did for food and coffee, and a little shopping!

Welcoming and friendly staff. Very clean room. A bit snug and tight to get into bathroom and to go out of door in the 2 queen bedroom room we were in. But it was a beautiful area. Close to boutiques and restaurants. All within 5 min of walking. Would definitely recommend.

I'm very pleased with the level of service, the cleanliness of the room and how nice the rooms are. It's quite, enjoyable and excellent location. From the exterior, I expected less; however to my surprise these rooms are very nice, clean and fresh. Very happy!
