100% the best Indian food I've had since being in Adelaide. The flavours are authentic, they are able to modify dishes to your taste and the curries and breads are authentically made. It was bustling when we went on the weekend so recommend booking. Cannot wait to go back again and try more of the menu, we loved it!
One of the best Indian restaurants I have dined at. The service was top notch with friendly staff and drinks/meals came out in good time. Plenty on the menu to choose from to suit all taste buds. Definitely didn't go home hungry!! This is a must if you are in the Clare area.
Fantastic foods and absolutely loved this place. Good service & atmosphere, won’t disappoint and worth the drive. Recommend Chicken Tikka Masala and Beef/Goat Vindaloo. Definitely will come back soon.
Me and my wife had the set menu 2. It was great. It started with the tastiest, crispiest chicken tikka masala I have ever had. It could only be described as the ultimate KFC of Indian flavours. The entre also had a lamb cutlet that was very well cooked and delicious. The main was the Punjabi butter chicken and we substituted in the goat special curry from the signature dishes. It was amazing, the serving sizes were huge and we left with two left over containers full. The sides were a raita and a bean dish, plus a range of naan breads. Then you could choose your desert from the menu. We had the mango icecream and the cinnamon balls. It was fantastic. The restaurant is very nice and well presented and the staff were really helpful and very kind and attentive. It was a great night out, I have already booked there again. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian curries and dishes. Kid-friendliness: Kids were eating happily, the spice level is adjusted to suit. Wheelchair accessibility: There was a ramped entrance and large bathrooms.
This was our anniversary dinner and we were visiting Claire, so I had booked well in advance. I was eager to experience Indii due to all the hype from friends about the North Adelaide branch and I had gone through the reviews. Food- I won’t say it wasn’t typical Indian as no Indian restaurant in Adelaide serves that to cater to larger population. But I didn’t find the taste any different than a local Indian restaurant around any nook n corner of the city. The chicken tikka didn’t have a flavour of tandoor and the Goan fish curry didn’t have any notes of curry leaves, the curry taste overpowered the fish even though the fish was fresh n tender. Some curry had so much artificial food colouring that it left stains on fingers. Honestly the taste was a let down given sweetness of the curries even though we had asked for medium hot. Our saving grace was onions n chilies that I had requested for. The naans and rice were good, so was the pista kulfi that tasted pretty authentic. Service- the service was average as one expects, nothing below or over. When I filled up the reservation confirmation form a couple of days before our visit, it asked if it was a special occasion and I mentioned it being an anniversary dinner. But I don’t think it was considered as the restaurant didn’t do anything to cater to the occasion, not even “Happy Anniversary” or “Thank you for choosing us for your special day” Why ask if it’s irrelevant? Seating- even though the restaurant was pretty empty, we weren’t given an option to choose our seating. Given my body weight I felt pretty stuck up in the face to face sofa seating with very little space between my body and table.
Had a fantastic dinner here on Friday night with warm and beautiful interior. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the drinks menu is vast and the menu options are plenty. It's a really nice experience to dine out for Indian cuisine and be able to adventurous with your choices rather than your normal choices and that adventure pays off with delicious well sized meals.
It’s the highest rated restaurant in Clare Valley, so I thought I should give it a try. Made booking at 6pm, and even though wasn’t very busy when I came, it was filling up not very long after. The place is spacious and had nice decor, and they also showed off their wine collection. The menu was quite big, and we thought we might try some new things, so we tried the Punjaabi butter chicken, the truffle naan, peas pilau, broccoli in butter sauce and their rose kulfi. Overall the food was great, although I have to say I probably prefer my normal butter chicken compared to Punjaab one. Peas pilau was nothing special, I probably wouldn’t order again. Broccoli in butter sauce was just ok. Truffle naan was quite nice, you can definitely taste the truffle. Rose kulfi was beautiful considering I usually dont like rose things but it was pretty nice. Overall food was pretty nice, but I find the staff wasn’t friendly.
Was visiting Clare for my birthday and thought would give this place a try, the place closed at 9pm and we got there at 8pm, the very rude manager said if we could make sure to be out at 9pm only then can she serve us food, as we were already there and it was my birthday thought we’d just stay. The food portion size was a joke, we ordered 3 things 2 appetizers and 1 main and it was outrageously expensive! Not to mention the manager was in a rush to just get us out! Disappointed!
Best indian I've had in Australia after 11 years. Only downfall was feeling rushed with the staff, who were really lovely but coming to the table to clear plates still eating and standing watching/waiting for us to finish. But beautiful food and atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Like top class Indian food? Then go no further, found this gem of a restaurant which was right next door to our motel in Clare. We were warmly welcomed and were shown to a table, a thin slice of Indian bread arrived which was delicious, the menu was outstanding with so many choices it was difficult to choose, however we ordered a goat curry and a vegetarian meal of vegetables. The wine list is Superb lots of local wines and a spectacular vintage list. The service was fast, efficient and with friendly staff. Comes highly recommended.
