Wonderful food. The best curry we have had. Thanks guys
Delicious meal , everything fresh and hot and really tasty. Went there as we had always enjoyed the Mangonui restaurant and we we not disappointed
Waiters asked how the food was: Vegetarian Platter for 2: Onion Bhaji and vegetable patties were way over cooked, dry, yet over-oily with a mostly burned bitter flavour. Waiters both confirmed these were cooked once on a different day and not used, so bagged up, frozen and deep fried a second time - therefore overcooked, dry and bitter - Rehashed/recycled food. Butter Chicken: Chicken was dry, overly salted with very low flavour due to lack of spices used. Waiters both advised me the chef thought there was nothing wrong with these, even though they both agreed they were not good and apologised. Suggestion: 1 Chef has a reality check to avoid customers voting with their feet, especially considering we were the only ones in the restaurant in the middle of a long weekend. 2 Waiters need only to simply thank customers for their feedback instead of hanging around for ages profusely apologising and offering a 10% discount. 3 Waiters could ask what we wanted for desert to up-sell and make more income for the business. Instead this was not prompted. 4 Use chicken thigh meat instead of breast meat which goes hard and dry easily. Returned for lunch visit Nov 2022: Butter chicken resembles over salted tomato soup again.
Placed an order a while back now, I will admit. I placed an order of around $150.00 and received the rudest customer service, food was cold and very underwhelming. Being someone that loves traditional Indian cuisine, I'd be a little bit shy of serving up such food. Disappointing. Haven't been back since. Others have had different experiences, but I'm in no rush at all to go back here.
Butter chicken was excessively salty and under spiced. Salty tomato soup. Loud rap music wasn't helpful.Food: 2/5
Poor customer service and food is not fresh and no healthy habits followed
i came here a few months ago with my dad. these guys have the best butter chicken i’ve tasted in the far north. when we left my dad accidentally left his hat at the restaurant, luckily the staff were kind enough to keep it for the night and return it the next day.
Short 2 day stay in Kaitaia. Indian Spice is a good restaurant that serves great food. My wife commented it was the best garlic naan she had had in a long time. The seafood platter for two was an excellent starter. Two mains followed of which we consumed all but some rice. Service was good too although they were not busy. All in all well worth a visit especially if you like Indian food
Very bad experience from the staff. Poor customer service
Best tasting butter chicken and beef korma i ever had. Iv recently moved from auckland have tryed over 50 butter chicken. And this place does the best by far. I am going to be regular friday night customer! Can't wait to try more out
