Food was tastythe service is normal but not friendly despite the fact that the restaurant was almost empty but we get a table at the end of the hall next to the toiletthere was a dirty knife on the table, we asked for a change, the menu was splattered with curryplease pay attention to details and service then your restaurant will be much better.
Service is awful. Pick up order - 30 mins. At 60 min mark I said you have 5 mins left. Team not to be seen and a stack of people waiting for their orders. I believe the food is good, but hard to know if they can’t make it for you. Perhaps get some better systems in place. Classic - whilst awaiting the order a seated customer asked the waitress for assistance. She walked right by him with no acknowledgment.
Chicken tasted really strange was worried it might be off.. stopped eating it. The food used to be really good not sure what’s changed. The lamb curry was quite watered down. Samosas were soft and not crunchy. Won’t be ordering again

Awful from the second we walked in the door. We called and made a booking for 3 at 6.30pm, upon arrival they looked confused like they didn't understand what we said and waved us off to any table. 5 minutes goes by and nobody comes to give us menus or let us know how the service worked. Finally when we got up to ask someone for a menu, the waitress mumbled about a buffet and did not allow us to just order separately. After much confusion and feeling extremely uncomfortable, we decided to just leave. Definitely the worst customer service I've ever experienced, nobody had any idea what they were doing.
I've enjoyed Indian Mahal's food for many years but have now had several recent bad experiences, the worst being the last time I will attempt to order food from there. On the two most recent occasions I've ordered via the website, we've arrived to collect our take away only to be told there's no evidence of our order or payment. The first of these two most recent occasions, we were at least given the order after arguing our case. The very last time we showed screenshot evidence of the order we'd made, the order confirmation, the tax invoice with Indian Mahal's ABN clearly displayed and a screenshot of our credit card statement only to be sent away with no food, late on a Friday night because we were not believed by the restaurant that we had ordered. The seemingly new manager could not care less and, along with the time wasted ordering and attempting to pick the food up, we are now having to chase a refund via our bank and Zwift.
We have loved this restaurant for many years, so much that we moved away and if we ever want indian food we travel all the way back just for this place. But last night's experience was horrific and enough to make us not return again! To start, the plates at the buffet were that hot that my daughter burnt herself and I burnt myself, and many guests there loudly complaining from burning themselves too, staff seemed entertained about it and did nothing to change it. The service was poor, extremely SLOW and very rude women. The food was also the worst we've experienced! The food tasted nothing like usual, butter chicken extremely spicy had one of us physically sick afterwards in the carpark. It took us 50 minutes to be asked if we want a drink!! We also watched a lady stand at the counter 15 mins before being acknowledged. Hopefully management see this and make changes because it will lose customers very quickly, like they've lost us!
Nightmare - I know it was a busy night but the order was completely wrong and unfortunately I didn’t notice until we got home - when I called to query the order I was told it was my fault as I didn’t check the contents of the bag properly - who opens up a curry container to check it’s the right curry, who checks the naans are in the bag! I just assumed it was correct and to double check I even asked if it was butter chicken as they had also got the order name wrong and I was concerned and was told yes Makhani means butter - hmmm Big shame as we have been loyal customers for years - the staff were so so rude as well, won’t be going back :
Fabulous food at an unbelievably reasonable price. We had the $25 buffet... pick the dishes you would like from a choice of 10 dishes, add salad, roti, papadams, raita, chutneys and for desert there is yummy gulab jamun. The lovely lady who was looking after us encouraged us to eat more if we needed to, and this was after we had both had a little second helping already. All the dishes we tried, and we tried almost all of them between us, were so tasty and fresh. I particularly liked the vegetarian options and my dining partner loved the lamb rogan josh. This was a spectacular find for us on our travels and is a great place to eat. I couldn't more highly recommend this restaurant.
I can only go on my experience… it was clean with white walls .. The service was quick n efficient , we only ordered one meal with rice n two Nann bread There was enough for two ppl Nice big portions , when it arrived I didn’t think they’d be enough but what an illusion Ordered the vinderloo … very tasty thank god didn’t ask for hot version Thank you
