The food was expensive but service was terrible. I pad 23+ something an I get this with tiny wooden spoon. I eat it with Indian tiktok videos. Do not trust google's rate.Food: 2/5
The food is very good in our decades of going there through the original owner and now, maybe a bit more haphazard, a second owner. Two weeks ago we ordered take away as lamb sarg, chicken tikka, a vegetable curry, garlic nan, and rice. We have been going to this place for a decade at least. So we picked up and got it home. Missing was the chicken tikka. So we rang the restaurant and they said, oh, we forgot. They delivered the chicken tikka then. But wait. We the settled into eating. But the lamb sarg was missing something. What may you ask? LAMB. There was no lamb in the lamb sarg. Then we noticed after a decade of loyalty, that the garlic nan was crispy not soft like we always had. This restaurant was seriously amiss this night. The new owner who acquired the business a year or two or more ago has really let the place down, however I though yesterday to 5/6/24 to double check. The food was back to exceptional. The bit is the variability.
Small eatery at the corner of Gears Avenue and Lyons Road, has two facades facing the outside. The friendly staffs are young and attentive. The dishes are fairly priced and tasty. My friend and I had 1 serving of the veg samosa 2 pieces, the chicken tandoori, the prawn Malabar with okra, the goat curry, with sides of basmati rice, Kashmiri Pulao, 2 servings of raisin and cinnamon naan. Needless to say we didn't finish it all, despite the food being delicious. The dinning atmosphere is a relaxed one. On the Saturday evening that we were there, we saw young couples; old regular couples; and one family with their toddlers dinning out. And of course there were the usual takeaway customers throughout. Would be back here for takeaways next time.
We've been regular customers for many years. This time we ordered a mango chicken and vegetable korma for pick up. The servings have been reduced significantly since our last order. Their take-away boxes have changed to ones half the thickness and they only gave 8 pieces of chicken in the mango chicken. The overall quality has dropped down as both curries were less flavourful than usual. I'm very disappointed and hope they bring their standard of cooking and portions back to their usual level.
We were very disappointed with the food here. The pappadums to start with were stale, entrees of lamb chops were tough and overcooked. Chicken tikka had food colouring added, oil used in cooking tasted old and not fresh at all. Main course of goat was small, roti was from a packet, lacking freshness. Will not be back here, probably the worst Indian food we have had in Sydney and we’ve tried many wonderful places
MISLEADING MENU & THE MANAGER/OWNER NEEDS A LESSON IN CUSTOMER SERVICE We’ve ordered takeaway from this restaurant in the past, but over the phone using a printed menu. Tonight, I ordered online. I scrolled to the “chicken” section to order Butter Chicken for my husband. Never in all the decades of ordering Indian have I seen someone call the “Butter Sauce,” “Butter Chicken sauce only.” I admit, I didn’t read the heading properly, but then, why would anyone list just the sauce under the chicken section when there is no chicken? Misleading advertising, to say the least. Also, their “cucumber yoghurt” is made with carrots, not cucumber, as per the menu. And it is so sweet it should be listed under deserts. We always order cheese & garlic naan. In the past, those ingredients were kneaded into the dough. This time, garlic was sprinkled on top and there was no cheese to be found, which made the bread atypically dry. A discount would have made sense on the reordered Butter Chicken since the issue was not just mine. Of course, we were asked to pay full price for the meal. Needless to say, we will never again order from this restaurant. After all, there is a much better-priced Indian restaurant five doors down.
We had a delicious Indian meal with my family here last night. Never disappointed. Food was yummy, staff were fantastic and friendly. Service was 10/10. We have been coming here for over 10 years. Thank you Indian Kitchen, we had such a great night.Food: 5/5
Very friendly atmosphere with great flavored dishes as well. Would recommend the platter, for starters. Good size king prawns. Definitely would recommend.
Delicious food and great service. Will definitely come here again next time I visit Sydney.
Very disappointed with their food as it was high risk of food poisoning and their hospitality. I ordered chicken biryani and it was stale, stinking upon opening the lid of the container. I called the restaurant the staff were very rude despite stating that the Raita sauce might be off since they make it only twice a week but admitted they did not check before delivering. Even chicken was smelly. We asked for refund or deliver fresh cooked they were just making unnecessary excuses to avoid compensation. I would not recommend anyone to this restaurant. Be cautious of what you consume.
