The Imperial Peking Restaurant in Blakehurst is a local favourite that has been around for many years. They make the most amazing food and some of our all time favourite dishes are the mud crab, shredded beef, prawn toast and mermaid tresses. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant or across the road.
A suburban Cantonese restaurant that offers yum cha daily in an old-school atmosphere environment that's well laid out in its pagoda design making it quite comfortable to dine in. Going for yum cha on a weekday lunch, it wasn't that busy but they had a steady stream of customers and staff came out regularly with trays of small baskets and plates of classic dim sum. Generally the taste of most dishes was up to scratch with traditional flavours and overall a place I would come back to. Prices are standard and a little high for the suburban location but they offer 5% off if you pay with cash. Service is good for this type of slightly upmarket suburban Cantonese restaurant. There's free parking across the street.
Area local, first time dining here with my partner, we loved the food, the service, the atmosphere and the decor. It was quite busy but we got a table without waiting. It's nice to see a restaurant that has a laid back vibe with many families present. Our waiter was attentive and service was warm and timely. The food was great and reasonably priced. A nice expansive menu, looking forward to dining here again to try more of the food and take more pictures! Vegetarian options: Available Kid-friendliness: Saw many families dining in Parking: Approx 20 spots plus street parking Dietary restrictions: Options available and on request
Great service, food as normal good, prawn mince deep fried balls so nice, chilli crab worth the money, juicy and sweet meat. Lovely for a special occasion and yum cha always a favourite Leigh Jones Local guide
The best Yumcha we had in Sydney so far. We ordered some prawn, pork/prawn and vegetable dumplings, egg tart and mango pancakes. We were happy with everything we ordered. The egg tart is a must order dessert, so yummy but forgot to take a photo.
Was just okay- service felt quite bad at the start but the staff slowly warmed up. They don’t have a trolley but rather a couple of staff just carrying around trays so you’re better off just ordering what you want from the menu.
Very nice restaurant with good setup One of the largest menus I have encountered Plenty of good food to try The food was amazing and the service was good, reasonable prices Better book before showing up as it gets busy there
Good food, nice ambience but very slow service. If you're ok with a leisurely meal, this is a good place but don't come here if you're starving and wanting a quick feed. We ordered the pork szechuan style excellent and spicy, the Peking shredded beef not spicy at all despite being described like that on the menu and was actually very sweet, steamed green vegetables in oyster sauce Ok but what can you expect from a veggie dish? and two soups which were pretty good wuntun soup and combination crab. And then you get the obligatory fortune cookie at the end which is always welcome!
We have yum cha here on a regular basis at least monthly. We have been going to this restaurant for 40 years. The food can be variable but we like the restaurant. Today we went we had five dishes as we always do and when we went to pay there were six dishes on the ticket. We advised that we only had five, we told her what the five dishes were, and we could not believe it when the woman says "I know you you come here all the time" and then she said "I trust my staff so you pay for six dishes". We will never be returning.
I normally come on Sundays for yum cha and the food had always been amazing. I came today and it seems that as the owner is not in the wait staff couldn't care less about the customers. The waiter kept asking if we were finished rushing us to leave the table. The food was less than average today and the way my friends and I were treated today was so disappointing.
