Saw The Mandalorian and Grogu at IMAX Sydney on a Sunday night. It was a very enjoyable experience. The venue, bar and cinema were very clean and well kept. We enjoyed sitting in the bar area before the movie. Our recliner was very comfortable. The picture was sharp and big. Sound was spacious and dialogue was clear. We loved how attentive and nice the staff were. There’s only one place to see big blockbuster movies in Sydney and that’s at IMAX.
First time visiting Imax Sydney in a very long time and it did not disappoint! The seats were comfortable, screen huge obviously and the sound was magic! The popcorn tasted great. The bar looked really nice for a pre movie drink. Highly recommend
I went to IMAX in the city and it was absolutely amazing.nThe experience is next level: powerful immersive sound, incredible atmosphere, top-quality image, and impressive infrastructure. Everything feels modern, well designed, and premium.nnPrices are very good for the level of experience you get — definitely worth it.nnOne friendly suggestion: the standard seats in the general area could be a bit more reclined. An extra 30 degrees would make long sessions even more comfortable.nnHighly recommended. This place truly elevates the cinema experience.
My first time visiting IMAX Sydney since reopening a few years back. The venue still feels new and better. It has manned counters and self serve machines. Plenty vending machines which not just for drink but also popcorn and ice cream. I feel like the screen is smaller than the old IMAX. I love the seat tho, so much better. Now the pricing are diverse depending where you sit on and what type of sit. It’s not cheap for the ticket. Standard seat sets you to $42. The cheapest seat would be at the front seat.
Terrible customer service. Told me all mobile phone use in the cinema was banned and I had to put my phone away when 2.5hes into a 3 hr movie. No signs saying no mobile phone use. I have a privacy screen, my light was totally dimmed as low as it can go and I used dark mode on my phone. I was sending a simple text. My phone was totally on silent and there was no one sitting around us that I could have disturbed. I spoke to management after who said mobile phone use is banned, I asked where is the sign telling me - not a single sign, just buried in the terms and conditions on the wall so high you can’t read them at all. I took a photo, zoomed in so much and come to find out mobile phone use is not banned, they ask for discretion to be used to not disturb others - literally exactly what I was doing. Staff and management there don’t even know their own policy. Based on that and now reading all of the other shocking reviews, if you’re looking for a cinema, this is definitely not the one to chose if you want to enjoy watching the movie… the only distraction was their staff creating one ‍ I hate leaving negative reviews but this was actually the worst. These are the impossible rules to read - although also get your mind reading sharpened as they made their own rules up - maybe they can’t read their own rules either
