My first time visiting IMAX Sydney since reopening a few years back. The venue still feels new and better. It has manned counters and self serve machines. Plenty vending machines which not just for drink but also popcorn and ice cream. I feel like the screen is smaller than the old IMAX. I love the seat tho, so much better. Now the pricing are diverse depending where you sit on and what type of sit. It’s not cheap for the ticket. Standard seat sets you to $42. The cheapest seat would be at the front seat.
I went to IMAX in the city and it was absolutely amazing.nThe experience is next level: powerful immersive sound, incredible atmosphere, top-quality image, and impressive infrastructure. Everything feels modern, well designed, and premium.nnPrices are very good for the level of experience you get — definitely worth it.nnOne friendly suggestion: the standard seats in the general area could be a bit more reclined. An extra 30 degrees would make long sessions even more comfortable.nnHighly recommended. This place truly elevates the cinema experience.
Nice presentation for Chainsaw man. The environment is clean and well managed.nnWas sitting in H row, still feeling the screen is a bit too big for me. Other than the size of the screen, sound and other factors are not really special. The value is questionable for me.
Watched Avatar here and the experience was amazing.nThe IMAX screen is absolutely stunning, the visuals are incredibly immersive, and the 3D effects were excellent.nSeats were very comfortable, making the whole movie experience even better.nWill definitely come back here again for future movies.
Watched Demon Slayer at IMAX Sydney with high hopes, but left disappointed. The sound was far too loud. During high-pitched moments I wished they’d turn it down. Definitely not ideal for kids, and even as an adult it felt uncomfortable.nnFor the amount you pay for IMAX tickets, you expect a real “wow” factor, but it just wasn’t there. IMAX felt more like hype than experience. Even though the screen is massive, the overall value wasn’t worth it. At Hoyts Entertainment Quarter, the Onyx cinema gives sharper detail, balanced sound, and far better comfort at a much more reasonable price.nnEven though we had recliners at IMAX, they lacked lower back support and left me sore. The screen is massive, but depending on the movie, parts can be cropped.nnThe cinema itself was very clean, from the halls to the restrooms, but overall, I wouldn’t go back. Hoyts delivers the experience I was hoping IMAX would.
