Atrocious. I dont post things but I felt like I had to. Absolutely worst dining experience EVER. Not only were staff rude but it took well over an hour for mains to be served. The spaghetti was over cooked. The sauce tasted like it was from a jar. The pizza was burnt. I honestly have nothing good to say but I would be very very embarrassed as the chef or owner of what was served. It was just unacceptable. Stay well away from this place. There are plenty of other better places to eat.
Went with the family expecting a simple & authentic menu. Only one front of house staff member struggling to cover everything. On arrival no greeting and told to just find a table. No water, no bread provided. Menu was very expensive with $30+ mains. Portion sizes and food quality did not reflect the price. Had to ask for crab utensils & the promised finger-bowl. Everything just plonked on the table without a word, including the bill and receipt. No departing remarks. Very un-Italian With all the Balmain & Leichhardt choices available, this is not a restaurant that we will be returning to in any hurry.
My husband,myself and my daughter dined here a couple of months ago. We found the staff to be exceedingly friendly however not over the top. They were helpful and accommodating. Then the food arrived and it was delicious. I am hoping to return there very soon.I would dine there every week if lived in Sydney. Thanks for a wonderful meal
Had a 'baked' pasta dish here - for the prices on the menu, it is a reasonable expectation to have had a baked pasta dish go into an actual oven. It was definitely microwaved, the incessant sound of the beeping microwave gave it away, if not the chewy 'over microwaved' pasta did! Ordered the buffalo mozzarella with Rocket, the only rocket found was a yellowing single leaf amongst iceberg lettuce. Disappointed - as it always smelled so good walking past. Mediocre at best, give it a try for yourself, but as a local to Balmain we will certainly be swerving that place and it's over priced microwaved food.
Just got back from a great night here, the food was superb and they were more than accommodating with making room for our large pram. Loved the Lasagne and the Garlic pizza was delicious. Quickly becoming my favourite Italian place in Balmain.
Worst experience EVER. Can't imagine what would entice me back. Staff were SO unfriendly, meal took about an hour and 20, when I complained to staff, shrug of their shoulders said it all. We asked for water on 3 occasions and left still not getting the water. When we paid the bill and made a complaint, we were told they were busy. So many other places to eat in Sydney. They didn't even care that we complained. Do yourself a favour and skip this place.
It's finally time to write a review about this business! I am Italian and I live in Sydney for about 4 years. My wife and I have been to many,many,many Italian Restaurants. 9 out of 10 shouldn’t call themselves "Italian Cuisine" should be illegal and banned by the government as it's illegal to replicate famous clothing brands!!! Anyway, in Sydney are only 3 good Italian Restaurant. Il Casale Nobili is one of them as we are regular customers. The pizza is very traditional and very similar and accurate taste to the original North Italian Pizza. People that left bad reviews I can bet that they don't even know the difference between a pizza made "A Napoli" or made "in Modena" or made in Australia by some bad famous brands.... In order to critic anything you need first knowledge. I can guarantee you that my wife hate fish, well.. she loves and she can easily eat the Linguini Marinara from this restaurant! Do you want a real Italian Restaurant? You just found it. P.s Buy the Garlic Pizza very very North Italian!!!!
Pretty good. Pizza crust was thin but soft, toppings were juicy. Coke was watery, and price was a little high. It was mothers day, so the staff were struggling a bit, but understandably.
It's a rustic Italian restaurant with a nice wood fired oven. The pizza bases are thin and yummy and the service is professional and easy. Just the music is not my thing... very...Italian ;
Horrible food. Gave a 5 year break from this place as it was a terrible experience then and 5 years later it hasnt changed! Read the reviews on other sites such as trip advisor. No wonder its ranked 87 out of 93 restaurants in Balmain. Dont go some many options. If you want great Italian go to Recco Lab on Terry Street
