It's ok. But limited range of products. Most of the items l used to buy there are no longer available. Not even the Sydney morning Herald! The shop used to be packed. Queuing up to buy goods. Now you can walk straight up and be served and self service also has no queues. The staff are really nice and helpful tho.
No variety, mostly just prepared food for tourists/backpackers. The staff are nice, but they have NOTHING you actually need in a COMMUNITY market. They remodeled it and it has less than HALF the shelf space. A waste of time, unless you're desperate.
Agree Nick. Was looking forward to a refurbished IGA with the same products and general usefulness as a community supermarket. Turns out that it’s a service station without the usefulness of petrol. Very disappointing. Looks reeeaaallly clean though!! If Harris farm reads these, can you open a general supermarket...... there is a massive hole in that market in Hall Street now!!
New store needs a greater range of non food items. Don't try to compete with Harris Farm you will lose. We need a supermarket not a fresh food store.
From a Bondi Beach local - IGA has been here for years, and overall, it's a good grocer. IGA Bondi Beach has a very efficient staff, always helpful and friendly. The range of foods and store prices are okay, but do not compare to the 'big boys' coles and woolworths. Even if it is an 'independent' grocer, i don't see the fairness in charging slightly more than its competitors. In terms of fruit and vegetables, IGA is average - but this is an excusable flaw, because so is coles and woolworths. The avocados are good, as the previous review said, and the fruiterer is dedicated. However, the other fruits and veges are usually mediocre. The place to get high quality fruit+veges at an affordable price is HarrisFarm. Overall, a good IGA with some minor flaws - but i would recommend the store to anyone. Moreover, the other IGA in Bondi Beach Curllewis St doesn't even compare to this one - that IGA is horrendous. Endnote - Service is exceptional - 10/10 Prices - 8/10 Range - 7/10 it is smaller than most groceries, so perhaps you can't complain Convenience - 7.5/10 should be open an hour longer - closes too early! Specials frequency - 9/10
Very poor service! Store worker was extremely rude! Very high prices, fruit never fresh and meat usually only days from expiry date. I bought chicken thigh from there which was off! Will not shop here!
This place has been here for ages and is great when you need to pop in and grab a cool drink or a snack. Run by a lovely bunch of people, you're bound to find what you need here. They even open coconuts for you!
Bring back the old IGA! Looks nice and pretty but lacking so many products that they used to have. I used to go there everyday but never go anymore.... Bring back the old IGA!
The scales in the self service don't work, if you catch my drift...
Very nice and clean with very helpful staff. A bit limited for choice of products.
