Ichiba Junction offeres a great variety of products, including Sake, Umeshu plum-wine, Non-alcoholic drinks, sauces, spices, teas, packaged foods, and not to forget the freshly made food options available Sushi, sashimi, various Donburi rice-bowl dishes, and others.nThe prices for the pickles they have in stock are hands down the cheapest in the area, and I love the large packets of Umeboshi salted pickles for less than $15!nnIt's fantastic and a bonus that the staff are also very helpful, polite, and friendly.nnDefinitely worth a visit if you need to stock up on your Japanese ingredients!
It was my very first time to visit this Japanese grocery store! They have any kind of Onigiri and frozen food Vegetables Crocket. I love the hospitality of the staff who offered us free tester of chicken Gyoza and other ready to eat food, very great! I will be back again next time I step my foot in Balwyn
I live an hour away from Ichiba Junction & so sad that I’m not closer as I would be shopping there for essentials at least every second day as our household cooking leans towards Japanese & ingredients. The range is pretty decent considering I cannot find 80% of whats on offer at my local Asian grocery. I was happy to find Wafu Pasta sauces, Chanko Nabe base, Curly ramen, Goma Dare, ready made Chashu, varieties of tea, varieties of Choya and much more. I stocked up as much as I could, would definitely try to visit more often and try the freshly made onigiri and bento. The staff are very helpful and friendly too.
A genuine Japanese Grocery Store with a in house Sushi Chef. My go to place to takeaway lunch for kids after Saturday classes. With 4 picky kids, Ichiba has something for everyone. They make Pork or Chicken Katsu Curry on rice, Sukiyaki Beef on rice, Karaage Chicken on rice and Eel rice bowl and also have freshly made sashimi, nigiri and sushi rolls. You can even order sushi platters. The prices are very good with Chicken Katsu Curry rice priced at $12.80. They sell out fast because it’s such a great deal! The shop is located opposite Maccas on Whitehorse Rd in Balwyn, next to the fruit shop.
Great shop with a wide range of items, and easy for those who do not speak Japanese to find what they’re after. Lovely sushi as well that they make fresh onsite, and friendly service.
