We booked 3 rooms at Ibis months ago, and due to family not being able to make it we had to cancel 2 rooms leaving one room for 3 adults which was fine. On multiple occasions I messaged to clarify that we could have a ground floor room due to my mothers inability to use stairs, I was assured on all occasions they will do their best to provide this even when I made phone calls after cancelling the other rooms as I 100% needed to be sure it was fine for mum.nnWhen we arrived we were told that there are no ground floor rooms, only 1 family room that accommodates 2 adults and 1 child.nnWhen I rang prior to arrival I was told there was plenty of rooms down stairs. No lift to the upper ground floors.nnReception gave us 2 numbers to other hotels to call which had absolutely no room due to something happening in Dubbo that weekend. Stressed and ready to turn around and drive back to Sydney on the same day as well. Not even an apology for their mistake.nnDo not recommend this hotel for anyone who has a disability or mobility issues as they are not forthcoming when it comes to this.nnI will on the other hand highly recommend the Cattleman across the road, on such short notice they found us the last room they had and moved other patrons into an upstairs room to give us the ground floor room.nnIbis, you better!
Ibis is okay in Europe. First time in in an Ibis hotel in Australia but seriously my last one too! There is nowhere to hang a coat or shirt, no place to put luggage except on the tiny bit of floor space. There is a tiny corner shelf with a kettle but no table or any other surface to put anything on.The place looks old and tired and thoroughly depressing. Somehow it's packed full of people and terribly noisy. I didn't want to bring my horse float to camp in as it is mid -winter but I'm regretting that decision. I walked to the library in town to get some work done.nNever coming back here again....
Good enough for a one or 2 nights stay.nCarpet is old, my room didn't have bedside tables but the bed was comfortable and the bedsheets were clean. I appreciated that I could open the windows for fresh air and the mini fridge is very handy. I used my flip flops in the showers though.. those bottom tiles need a good wash. You don't want to pay more that $80 for that though. Reception staff was nice.
When I arrived I waited 15 minutes as staff were not at the desk or anywhere to be seen.nBrooke who was on shift was very friendly, professional and helped me with guidance of places in the area that I needed to go to. Initially I was placed in a tight dark corridor+room surrounding screaming kids in opposite rooms but Brooke assisted and moved me to room that was in a quieter area as I had not slept for 30+ hours.nOverall my experience was great especially for the price and I can't fault my stay at all.nDefinitely will be back when I need to stay in dubbo again. Thank you
Room was relatively clean, bed was comfy, but unfortunately shower didn’t work very well. Staff were amazing and helpful. Location was great and parking handy. Air conditioning was awesome and not too loud. I didn’t hear too much noise from the hallway either. I’d stay here again
