Founded by Celia Cecchi in August 2012, I Scream Nails first made it’s mark on the Melbourne nail art scene setting up a pop up salon in a half vacant space behind Northcote fashion store Lupa Clothing. A four week pop up salon quickly turned into a full time gig and I Scream Nails has become Australia’s most in demand team of nail artists.
With over a year of pop up salons and events under their belt, in September 2013 I Scream Nails opened their first permanent salon in the heart of Collingwood, Melbourne — located just 5 minutes from the CBD.
In February 2014 I Scream Nails launched the very first ‘nail-art bike’, a portable nail painting station that can be seen around the streets of Melbourne painting peoples nails.
The I Scream Nails logo, branding and overall look was created by Ben Johnson. In May 2014 Ben joined the company in a full time capacity as Creative Director. Ben and Celia have been a couple for 6 years.
In October 2014, I Scream Nails branched out and launched their first Sydney Salon in Newtown. Also providing event services and pop up salons all around Sydney.
In December 2014, I Scream Nails launched their first nail polish range. All our nail polish is made in Australia, is 5 free, vegan and cruelty free.
In September 2015, The I Scream Nails DIY Nail Art Book was published and more products were launched in the form of nail wraps and more I Scream Nails nail polishes.
Made up of a team of approx 30 nail artists, and specialising in events, I Scream Nails has worked and collaborated with some of Australia’s biggest brands including Westfield, Sportsgirl, David Jones, Myer, DI$COUNT UNIVER$E, Gorman Clothing, Guess, French Connection, Glue Store, Southern Cross Austereo, Vans — and the list goes on.
In addition to this, I Scream Nails has delivered successful events at the Australian Open (2015 & 2016), the Melbourne Cup Carnival (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015) and the Netball World Championships Sydney (2015).
Due to the overwhelming success and high demand for I Scream Nails events and products, in September 2016 I Scream Nails will close the doors to both our Melbourne and Sydney salons for the short term to focus on these expanding parts of our business.
We are super excited about the future of I Scream Nails and can't wait to show you what's next.
