The guide was friendly and interesting! I highly recommend this tour for people who are coming to Sydney and want to see the best places and meet new people. You have a 10 minutes break in the middle for toilets, you can buy some food and in the end you give some tip for the guide. with cash or card
TLDR; Exceptional Sydney Free Walking Tour: A Must-Do for New Visitors Seeking City Highlights The Sydney Free Walking Tour proved to be a phenomenal experience, providing an essential introduction to the city's best spots for newcomers. One of the highlights of this tour is its "try before you buy" approach, allowing you to pay what you think the experience is worth, ensuring exceptional value for all participants. Lasting just under three hours, the tour also includes a convenient break for restrooms and snack opportunities. Despite encountering rainy weather, the tour remained engaging and thoroughly enjoyable. The enthusiasm of our knowledgeable guide, who expertly projected his voice for all to hear, kept the entire group captivated throughout the journey. This tour is undoubtedly a must for anyone eager to explore the wonders of Sydney while gaining valuable insights, a sense of direction, and an unbeatable value-for-money experience.
Great way to find out a bit about Sydney, while getting yourself orientated. So glad I took the advice of other reviewers and did this as a first activity, despite having only arrived at midnight before the tour starting at 10.30. Leo our guide was full of knowledge, did a great job, skilfully sharing that knowledge and his enthusiasm for his home city. Can't recommend this enough.
Scott was my guide for the day and The Rocks tour. He was a great guide which is why I'm calling him out by name. Definitely worthwhile to get the lay of the city when it's your first time in Sydney. Scott's humor really makes it memorable. Thanks Scott!
Really enjoyed our time in the walking tour! Had a unique chance to experience the Rock in the evening without a lot of people, great view on top of the Observatory Hill & picked up a few interesting stories and facts about the area from our humorous tour guide, Scott. Definitely would recommend others to give it a try!
Went for the rocks tour tonight with Scott. It’s a wet Saturday with just a small handful. It’s an interesting tour from the waterfront to the hilltop. It ended near a couple of historical pubs for you to take your pick or to just head elsewhere. Got to learn of different ancient personalities with colourful histories. Some are more tragic than others. Sign up to find out more !
We did the Rocks tour and would do it again! I’ve been wandering around the Rocks enjoying the alleyways and historic buildings for years however just touching the surface of the history. This short tour was great at digging deeper into the history of the Rocks and early Sydney life. Would highly recommend. Scott our guide was great.
Our tour guide Scott did an amazing job telling us about the history as well as some fun facts of the city. It helped understanding the culture and aspects of this "young" city and the human living in it a little more and gave a great insight. Thanks for your time and dedication, it has been a great tour!
Excellent free walking tour in Sydney to see a variety of local sights. The tour itself took about three hours with a 10-15 min bathroom/coffee break in the middle. The tour starts on the east side of Town Hall by George St and ends between the Rocks and Circular Quay you have to make your own way back to the starting point, or you can continue exploring the sights in the harbor by yourself. The walk itself is generally flat, wheelchair friendly, and meanders through a lot of hidden alleys and historic sights in the downtown core. We were actually in Sydney for a couple of weeks before doing this tour and we still learned a lot and saw a lot of sights we had previously overlooked. Our guide, Leo, was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and a wonderful tour leader. He was easy to hear/follow and did a great job keeping the group together and making sure we were all actively involved. One thing I especially like about this tour was that the guides didn’t harp on about receiving tips like many other “free” walking tours I’ve been on elsewhere. They mentioned it, but it never felt like we were pressured into giving tips if we didn’t feel like it our group ended up giving $10/person in tips at the end. Overall, great experience and highly recommended!
FUN and informative! We booked a 1.5 hour private Culture Capital Tour for a small group of friends travelling to Melbourne. It was the perfect length, and being private meant we could select a time that suited us. With a fixed cost for the tour, it worked out to be most affordable per person. Ross, who organised it, was prompt, friendly and informative in all communication phone and email. Daniel, our guide on the day, was a font of fabulous information! Interesting, engaging, with great energy, he made the city, its history and culture come alive. Highly recommend!
