The Hydro Majestic is my favourite all time hotel. Three years ago my husband proposed to me at the hotel and we came back to hold our wedding. It was a dream come true!! It was the perfect setting and all our guests loved it. The indoor and outdoor spaces are magical and beautiful. I am privileged to stay in the gorgeous building and it was breathtaking to walk through in my wedding dress. The rooms were wonderful, clean and very comfortable. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious big thanks to the chef, the staff were accommodating and went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to family, friends and anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
We enjoyed the loveliest High Tea in the Wintergarden. The food, presentation and service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We had more than enough to eat, in fact we brought the selection of petite cakes home with us for later. They too were delicious. The view over the Valley is stunning. Thank you for a memorable visit. Will definitely return with friends.
Rooms are small however that's a reflection of the time when the hotel was built. Lovely interesting decor throughout the hotel. Great views. Breakfast at $39 per person was overpriced. Better value breakfasts available elsewhere. Staff were attentive and meals for our function were good but a little on the small side. Lots of activities in the area but the weather was quite wet while we were there.
We had high tea with the most beautiful view here. Couldn’t fault it. The customer service, high tea selection and portions were spot on and the ambience was on point. Perhaps if I found one tiny thing - the music was very loud half way through our sitting but I’m sure that was a simple bump of the volume control as it wasn’t for the whole sitting. Maybe the last 45min or so. I would highly recommend going here for high tea. We loved it.
Hello, I was in this place today with my family. We were looking for nice restaurants to have lunch there. We end up to this place. Very nice and welcoming place with gentle and smiling staff. Very beautiful view of blue mountain. BUT when we look at the menu there was no food there! It was a high tea menu! We were hungry for lunch and because it was busy there we were ashamed to leave after read the menu! Anyway we ordered whatever was in the menu BUT actual food. Everything was nice and fresh. But this place is not restaurant! It is high tea CAFE! They have to change the title to CAFE. $60 per person for something that you can’t call food. When we talked to people who were sitting on table behind us they said they made same mistake. They come for lunch and they end up having tea and finger food!
Decided to go for high tea for our anniversary. Views are excellent but the high tea was a great disappointment. Don’t waste your money. At a cost of $70.00 it certainly not worth it.The food was very average. They can’t even provide a good cup of tea. The tea pot was half empty and the tea was very strong. I asked for extra water and thus made the tea cold. I would not recommend.
The location and view is stunning, the interior is well maintained. We went for high tea Nye, the scones were wonderful. Everything else was just fine, I feel for over $100 per person there should have been a few exceptional dishes.Service: 4/5
My husband and I stayed in February for our 27th Anniversary. The room was beautiful. The service was more than 5 stars and the staff absolutely amazing, so friendly and very helpful. The food, was exceptional we loved it, and to top it off we had Happy Anniversary messages on our desserts. We had an amazing weekend, so much so, we have booked in again for a few weeks time.
The hydro majestic hotel had romantic memories for us so we went back many years later. It is opposite a handy train station which is ideal. The hotel has been renovated thoroughly but the feeling of luxury isn’t there, for example, plastic flowers framing the large arched doorway to dining room. There is the impression of cost saving probably because the hotel is so expensive to run. And there are no competitors. The bedroom was overheated - even when radiator was off as the windows don’t open. Great views. Breakfast was served in the rather dark entrance lounge/bar to the hotel which also doubled up as a a lounge/cocktail area of the night before so didn’t offer a fresh feeling. Dinner was very good - although the price is set- in the huge dining room - the serving staff are very sweet and skilled. Wine was way overpriced - even for an ordinary wine. The welcome crew were a bit diffident, ie unfriendly, which was disconcerting. Still a good place to stay to be close to wonderful hikes in the Blue Mountains.
We recently had High Tea at the Hydro Majestic on a Sunday afternoon. What a disappointing experience!! Don’t waste your money!! We had booked a table months ago, and we were stuck at a table at the back of the room and when I saw a group of people leaving at a window table and asked if we could move there they told ask we could not. Note: we were only just seated, so it would have been easy to move Also, The room temperature very very hot and stuffy and was making us feel sick!! When we ordered 3 pots of tea, the waiters forgot to bring the milk & I had to ask twice for milk, & by the time it came the tea was cold!! There were several waiters walking around, so there was no excuse! The food was OK, but not worth $70/head. I thought we could have had more hot food like little vol-au-vents and pies. Overall, a disappointing experience & I won’t be recommending this place to my friends or family.
