Specialising in residential design of new houses, renovations and stone houses, including detailed design of interior joinery, kitchens and bathrooms.
We operate on the basis that every project must be tailor-made to the client's particular needs, recognising the significance of site conditions and the relationship of the building to its surroundings, adjacent properties and the environment in general.
To this end, Pauline Hurren is personally involved throughout the design process which is extensively explored in order to provide multiple options, culminating in the ideal solution - and all included in a standard scale of fees.
All drafting is undertaken manually, facilitating a free hand in the detailing of every job to achieve a unique 'one-off' outcome, unencumbered by standard or repetitive design elements. Simple construction techniques familiar to small builders are employed, thus keeping construction costs to a reasonable level.
The practice currently comprises Pauline Hurren as Principal Architect, two Interior Designers, one handling detailed joinery, three draftspeople and our secretary. We are located in the Adelaide Hills and have undertaken projects as far away as Sanctuary Cove, Queensland.
Pauline Hurren has been in practice for approximately 40 years and is a fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.
Pauline Hurren has been awarded the '2005 Sir James Irwin RAIA President's Medal for Exemplary Service to and Promotion of the profession of Architecture'.
