This area was created many years ago from a flood pan the creek used to flow into after heavy rain. It is a good filter for the creek which eases through the wetlands and under Huntingdale road where the (clean) creek continues psst the golf course and Oakleigh swimming pool.
 It hosts many types of wildbirds and a few fox's, judging by the feathers seen on occasion. It is a pleasent walk and some rest areas.It is bordered on one side by a bike track which can be dangerous with inconsiderate cyclists particular in the mornings and evenings.
