Nice place to grab a bite to eat with a view over the downs. Place seems spacious and tidy to stop. Price wasn't bad either. Was overall a good visit but felt irritated as staff cleaned plates before I had finished eating.. Massive pet hate personally..
Three friends hired a boat for 2 hours, on a perfectly calm and warm day. A few numb bums on the way back so a padded seat wouldn't go amiss! However a fabulous few hours looking at the wildlife, listening to the water and taking in the breathtaking scenery. We then had lunch sat watching everyone else taking their boats out. Cannot fault the service and staff and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.
Great location by the river for afternoon tea. I had a rhubarb cream tea, whilst my husband enjoyed their savoury cream tea cheese scone, cream cheese and chutney - both were a bit different from your standard cream tea. Portion sizes are very generous!
My family visited for afternoon tea with Santa, the staff were very friendly as well as being very professional. The food was amazing and the atmosphere buzzing. My granddaughter went into see Santa with her mum, he was very attentive to her and also took her xmas list. We will definitely be going back again, not only for Santa.
What an amazing place! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and delicious food- with plenty of gluten free and vegan options just as for the separate menu. The perfect treat after a cold winter walk! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan
Of course it was perfect: everything was ready for the Christmas season so the scones ah! the ginger one...!!! served by 'an elf' was so nice. Happy holidays!Food: 5/5
Nice spot on the Arun river in Amberley. Just stopped off for a light lunch of soup and a sandwich after a dog walk along the river. Friendly relaxed atmosphere and efficient service.Food: 4/5
After driving past this place for 4 decades I finally stopped in and ate! I appreciate it hasn't always been Riverside, but my 10yo self was so excited to finally stop here! I highly recommend the brie and beetroot chutney tart, and the boyf says that the Riverside burger is very tasty. They have a good selection of foods though a cheese and pickle ciabatta would be appreciated by this vegetarian. There is a GF and Vegan menu if you need one which is really helpful. The view across the River Arun is very pleasant to look at; we would've loved to have taken a boat out but we're not sure if our dog would have enjoyed it! I really wanted to see the seal named Gav! One of the many things I liked about this tea room is that there is a table where you can meet other people just for a chat if you're on your own. It certainly looks wheelchair accessible inside, and with some help a wheelchair could certainly access the terrace that overlooks the river. I shall return to be able to have more of the chocolate cake! Thank you!
Lovely spot. Shame about the staff. After closing on Sunday, we strolled through the car park to take in the view and get some information about opening times. We were immediately challenged by a staff member from inside the building shouting, "We're closed! Did you not see the cones?" When we replied that we had not, he shouted, "What, you didn't see the cones?" We departed quickly. We will not be walking through the car park again, we will not be taking in the view, and don't worry - we won't be back. I'm sure this review will initiate a caustic reply, and that is within your right. But it is important for the establishment to know that first impressions go a long way. You have a lovely spot. If potential customers want to find out a bit more, you don't need to chase them out of the car park.
We had a fab afternoon. We hired a boat for an hour and headed towards Arundel. We had so much fun and had a really laugh. It's a great way to see the fantastic area where we live. We then had afternoon tea and sat outside next to the river. The food was lovely and we even took a 'doggy bag' home. Thanks to Frankie and Terry for being such great hosts and to all their staff for making our afternoon such fun.
