Quick stopover. Reasonable fish and chips shop. Good size fish and chip. Price is maybe slightly high? Given it’s local town only. Tasted ok. Limited number of seating available.
It used to be good don't know what happened but now this is the 3rd time in a row,no more ever,rather eat bait...ordered flake used to give 2 nice decent size fillets per serve..price went up straight away so called covid,then they said fuel etc etc so what's the thing about local produce??? Got smaller tiny fillets and were dry,so now again......still small fillets and the fish was like rubber and very thin...seriously? How can you really serve people this..bloody disgusting and rip off..save your $$$ better off getting crumbed cheap frozen pk from whoolies.very disappointed.

I find an excuse to grab the $8 lunch special every Saturday - the piece of fish is a good size and more chips than can eat...always fresh and crispy so know the oil is clean. The menu might look expensive but the quantity you get is massive - you actually get two pieces of fish for the menu price and the burgers are huge and tasty - quick and friendly service...definitely worth the 5 minute detour off Stuart Highway to grab a feed and pick up any supplies from the Humpty Doo Village Green shops while there.
Since all the staff changed this place has really gone downhill. The food has become incredibly, unbelievably oily. It was inedible, and I didn't even take it home to feed to my dog in case it made him sick too. Also, the fish is coated in fried chicken batter, which just tastes strange. Completely inedible...and it used to be so good.
I have been a professional fisherman for a number of years around Australia and coming to Darwin 14 years ago and now being in the mining game try to source good quality fish and chips so having tried a lot of them the people at humpty do fish shop do the best bar none , my mouth is watering just thinking about it can't wait to get home ,so here's to you guys keep up the excellent work and I think you guys should get an award for your hard work and efforts cheers
The worst fish and chips we have ever had so much oil no taste what so ever the so called fish didn't taste like any fish I've ever had could have gone to Coles bought a bottle of oil and still would have had less oil in bottle then what was covered over this $32 for a for a pack to feed two people well feed the bin more than two people will never be back
They forget the salt a lot but the food is still pretty good
Great food but a bit on the expensive side.
