big 2 hours free sign to trick you in and charged me 9 bucks for 1hour33mins stay around 5:30-7 weekday…
Deliberately with a big sign of “2hr free parking” when entering at 5.50pm on a weekday. Then I was surprised to be charged a full rate for one hour of “evening parking”, being told by the intercom that free parking of 2 hours only only till 6pm, and I saw the fine print at the bottom of the sign… and I verified that on the council website. Why couldn’t the rates be shown more clearly when I entered? Also - it’s much narrower with lower ceiling than the neighboring Holtermann St Carpark, which, btw, had free parking on weekdays until 11pm !
- Misleading/very unclear sign on entry. They probably expect you to read everything on the council website for all the rates. Large fonts “2 HOURS FREE” but does not highlight clearly enough that it does not apply to entries after 4pm. - Tight entry and exit. - Dark and needs better lighting. Better go elsewhere if you’re parking late afternoons Mon-Sat.
As a construction worker who uses this carpark six days a week, I find it disgraceful that myself and other workers are charged $48 to leave the carpark rather than the usual $15 when sent home early due to bad weather.
Excellent when you’re in a pickle and looking for a place to park two hours free!
Some say not to worry about the height of this carpark, but for those who have vehicles around the 2.1m height mark, or higher, I suggest you look elsewhere to park your vehicle. The listed height is 2.1m, but on some of the ramps, it seems that the height is actually lower than that. The ticket-less system for this carpark appears to work well, and is excellent for those who tend to misplace their parking tickets. All you need to do is drive up to the boom gates, and if you've stayed for longer than 2 hours, you can pay with a debit/credit card at the boom gate. There is also a machine on Level 2 of the carpark if you wish to pay with cash before returning to your vehicle. This location is reasonably located close to the Crows Nest shops; they are a short walk away.
FREE 2 hours parking one period per day only, then third hour is $6.00, thereafter $6.00 per half hour. Maximum daily fee Mon to Sat, 7am-6pm $48.00 Evening flat rate after 6pm is $9.00 FREE parking: Sunday
They leave the gate open so if you enter before 6:30 for early bird they'll hit you with the full hourly rate as if you entered after early bird rates. I entered before 6:30 and left after 2:30 and they charged me $60 because early bird has to enter after 6:30. What a rip-off.
Always room to park even when there's a basketball game on in the stadium attached.
