I got the original milk tea with pearls. The tea tasted good and the pearls are nice and chewy. The packaging is also super cute. The only reason why I gave it a 4 stars is because the drink was warm even tho I got regular ice, probably because I went at opening time so the pearls were still warm so I recommend not getting the pearls as soon as they open.
Waited 10 minutes to order, there were only 3 customer orders in front of us. Took them 20 minutes to prepare the thai milk tea and it wasnt even sweet enough. Way below the normal standard sweetness level. Didnt bother asking for a new drink it might take them another 20 minutes. Wouldnt return unfortunately
A nice post meal dessert drink, my Taro milk tea was made the way I like and remember it to be. We order 2 drinks and received them within 5 mins. Husband enjoyed his drink too.
Ordered an Oolong Milk Tea with large pearls. The boba pearls were a little mushy - didn’t seem fresh. Oolong tea flavor was good though.

I visited hulu cat for the first time today, the drinks were delicious however I noticed that the workers are selective about who they are friendly towards. The customer who was in front of me received a smile and a polite notice from the worker when her drinks were ready, however my drinks were placed on the counter without a signal that they were ready or mine, barely even a glance my way, until I asked. I personally enjoy respectful customer service so I doubt I will be back.
It’s either their drinks are overwhelmingly sweet or their milk tea only tastes of just milk Edit: just recently go a drink from them and idk what they did with the drink but my stomach is feeling so unwell
Ordered some drinks from Hulucat on Dominion Rd before popping in for lunch at Hot & Spicy Pot on a Sunday. Their Oatmeal Milk Tea – couldn’t fault the flavour... Years ago and during the good old uni days, Hulucat and J’s Tea were the cool places to go for late night drinks and snacks with friends. Nowadays, increasing demand for Asian-style tea with tapioca pearls has seen the opening of Gong Cha, Chatime, HITEA, ONEZO, Wu Cha and the like absolutely everywhere‼The introduction of new flavours and their refreshing versatility has helped the industry to thrive. Milk tea’s demographic has also expanded – it’s not just the uni students anymore, you see families with children, business people and tourists... You can’t go wrong with the classics like the Pearl Milk Tea at Hulucat and jazz it up with chewy pearls or fruit jelly; but I couldn’t resist the feeling that this NZ classic milk tea shop is trying really hard to keep up with the other milk tea chains in an increasing saturated market, but no longer has the power to command the same type of huge following. At the end of the day, we all like trying new & trendy things - the milk foam drinks from Gong Cha, the use of Zealong Tea at HITEA and the tapioca mastery from ONEZO...
I’m a regular customer and buy your tea for all family members, we all like your flavours, Yet the wait, forgotten orders, the No emotion face dealing with customers from the girl at the till is something they need to work on. I suggested to her last night, yet, I’m not understood, perhaps my language or my look, but will not go back to support such people. I’ll take it where it’s appreciated.
I am very disappointed at the dominion road store. I order an drink and clearly told them to add pearl. However, they completely forgot about it. Plus, my friend found an hair in her drink. It was such a horrible experience
