Kids really had fun every time we're there. The area/ shower is clean. Lot's of people the last time we visited and hard to get a parking ,but normally its ok.
Huia pool is ok however the floors could be cleaner as everyone eventually always gets some type of fungal infection in their feet. The Mens toilets in the shower area are pretty gross and the toilets don't flush properly. The council should really run a better facility and charge less money in my opinion.
The floors are slippery around the pools and in the kids pool. I had to consider really carefully keeping my balance in order to look after a toddler. No point in me slipping and falling over her... Then I wanted to use a swim lane but due to my sore joints could not lay myself to the ground to slip into the pool. Both access steps into the pool were inaccessible due to various classes taking place in the areas were they were located. I was hunted down like a thief by one of the classes person that I would not access the pool to join their class and had to promise that my intention was only to use one the swim lanes. That was degrading and humiliating.
Nice and decent public pool. Plenty of free parking upto 2h. Has family changing room, men and women seperately. The pool is indoor and has good warm water. They also coach who like to learn swimming.
Nice pool, clean and popular. Had lanes and aqua something jogging maybe? Then transitioned to water polo training. Didn't really look around but hear tell of a spa pool, there's a gym upstairs.
Used the heated pool which is ideal for those of us whose swimming ability is pretty much zero. Highly recommended.
The pools & facilities are awesome, the staff friendly & approachable. However the entrance-way always has rubbish out front like discarded face masks. It may be the wind but being a council building keeping the place clean should b more of a priority.
Being heavily pregnant the pool is great right now. They have the hydrotherapy pool which is away from the main pool and better for my current situation. Along with having a space for injured or older people to swim easily. The main pool is a decent size and they have had inflatables up over the school holidays for the kids. There is a spa and a kids pool as well. Changing rooms are clean. Now having my son we go every week to splash time. Jax is the teacher there who helps you learn to hold your little one in the pool and give tips for swimming. There's toys out for them and songs at the end. Definitely recommend going.
I'd say this is the best pool for under 8s in the Hutt. Lots of space and they keep the water warm.
Good for aquarobics , lane swimming, and gentle exercise in the warm pool.
