Nice coffee and friendly staff. A great alternative to the usual hospital cafeterias.Food: 5/5
I’ve been visiting a sick family member for a week and have received nothing but warm smiles and great service everyday but today 6.5.23 at 12pm encountered the rudest staff member encounter. The young gent was very kind but was being spoken to in such a condescending manner. The female staffer also forgot my coffee order, blamed the poor young gent and then when I returned to purchase 6 tarts for staff she stopped service to answer another person. After more than 5mins I said, “Excuse me I need to leave as my Mum who was in wheelchair can’t sit for much longer and could she just paid for the items I’d paid for.” She then proceeded to lecture me with details I won’t bore you with further. If you have a coffee shop in a premises where sick people attend you need people with patience, empathy and more than anything kindness. I urge you to sit in this store and observe the stress this lady brings to your premises. First time I’ve ever written a complaint and all because I would never want anyone to have to have this experience.
Zero stars if I could. Definitely not Diabetic friendly for a cafe IN a hospital! No sugar free options for their drinks. No stevia, nothing. Pretty poorly made coffee too. It would be nice if they could cater to the nurses and doctors too who start so early and work so hard, but sadly, they don’t. Horrid drinks, horrid food, and horrid service. Same level of terrible at GCPH as well as JFPH Dietary restrictions: They don’t cater for dietary restrictions and that is just disgusting. Considering the cafe is in a hospital where there are dietary restrictions, not just patients, but employees and visitors.
I always tried to give constructive criticism. My opinion is only about your coffee, not the food or the staff. I am a coffee person and I tried lots of coffee in every where. Even though I work in hospital, I do not buy coffee from you as much as I can because unfortunately your coffee isn't strong enough and does not have the pleasant taste of coffee! In my opinion, great coffee depends on three things: coffee brand, machine and barista. I suggest you buy a good brand of coffee like Social espresso or Campos and if your machine is not good, please change it! You have to keep in mind that most of your customers are hospital employees and they really like to make their days with a great coffee. Thanks in advance.
Great coffee shop at the Gold Coast private hospital premises. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have lunch menu at very reasonable prices with some Asian dishes such as thai curry, chicken korma and butter chicken. Coffee is always great. There are ample seating in and out of the shop to enjoy your meals.
The spinach and feta quiche is good for the price charged. I found some fancy rather expensive chocolate here that I didn't expect. It's as good as a hospital cafe can be.
It's a cafe in a hospital, but it's the staff that make it special. I experienced great service and observed others receiving the same. Just little touches like bringing out extra items, taking care to lay out the table just so, and making coffee and snacks the way people liked it most. Hard to put my finger on, they just seemed to care more, which is sweet.
Consistently Good coffee, however it is the most expensive in the area. sausage roll was great. The venue is really loud inside - not sure how you could combat that but you really gotta yell!Food: 3/5
Absolutely appalling service! Whilst enjoying our stay in maternity, we were excited to use our complimentary beverage cards . Going in to the shop with half an out left before closing , one younger staff member was willing to take the cards and make the beverages . He was rudely spoken to be the older staff member and told off in front of customers as she was cleaning the machine way before closing ! No empathy towards us and even their own staff . This is beyond a joke and something needs to be done about the so called service - this is the human service industry and the customers are highly likely going to be people who need be treated with care and empathy as this is in a hospital!! 0 stars
Don't come here if you have allergies or even a vegan. I'm dairy free and soy free for my breastfeeding daughter and there was nothing to eat available. Literally nothing, not even exaggerating. Couldn't even have a oat milk hot choc as the chocolate powder had dairy in it which actually isn't that common. Even Cadbury drinking choc doesn't have dairy. I asked about just toast and avo or something but they were unwilling to check bread ingredients for soy for me. Literally would have taken 30secs and I could've done it myself but no, unhelpful. So I've been here at the hospital since 5am with my son having surgery and now there's nothing to eat. Pretty bad for a cafe attached to a hospital. Service was unhelpful, blunt and it wasn't even that busy so they had the time. I've worked a cafe before, there was time to check. I had a 'smoothie' as it was dairy free and it tasted so bad. I drank half out of hunger but couldn't stomach the rest. Not fresh fruit or anything.
