Stumbled upon this place randomly while looking for a place to have breakfast. Staff friendly enough and plenty of seating. Seems like it gets quite busy and there is limited parking. I ordered eggs Benedict with ham and a chai latte. I enjoyed both. Nothing spectacular but I enjoyed my meal and if I was in the area looking for a cafe I would go back.
Saturday night we went for dinner with my parents. We’ve not been to the hub for a couple of years due to covid and the restaurant open for Friday & Saturday nights. As always the service lovely girl in her 20s was fantastic. She was polite, friendly and knew what was going on in the restaurant. The drinks arrived - perfection is beautifully clean glasses. Then the meals… we were hoping for fresh seafood for our risotto and duck cooked to perfection but the chef delivered incredible meals worthy of a much higher price tag! Thank you for the great meal as always. Original review - 2 years ago Always great. Big servings, fantastic food and really well priced. Pro tip: Don't eat lunch if you're going there for dinner....
This cafe has definitely improved over the years. The young wait staff were great in the busy rush after the ANZAC memorial. Coffees came out quickly and the food service was good. The quality of the food has improved. There was a big thumbs up from our group with the Brekky Burger!
I would recommend attending this little cafe. Their coffees and cakes are amazing. Especially great are their cappuccinos and orange cakes. This place is excellent for all sorts of occasions from catching up with friends and family to business meetings. It also has great atmosphere and professional staff. Well done, team!
Coffee was great . Food was unpretentious and well done. Service was excellent. This place deserves to be busier as it delivers good honest product by people who care about the business. And it's not over priced like so many others are now.Food: 5/5
I’m a frequent customer at the hub cafe. The Asian woman that works there is horrible. I left my loyalty card home yesterday and they gave me a new one, they said whatever stamps I had on my new one, they can transfer it to the old one and I can then get a free coffee. Today I went in there with the old and new card and then they said they couldn’t do it. I ripped those cards up in their face and left. They’ve lost me as a customer. Moral of the story and as a business, mean what you say and say what you mean.
What use to be Avanti and moved to Be called the hub is long gone. Admittedly we had not been there in a while but for our date lunch and being in Ashgrove we reminisced and thought about the great times. Oh my how it is nothing. But a name Now. The food was some of the worst I have ever had. 1/3 of the order was missed and one of two main meals completely wrong. It was disgusting and we left with one meals 95% untouched, hungry, disappointed and wondering what on earth happened. Eat anywhere else but here. Save your money and eat out of a bin it would be more nutritious and closer to what you order anyway.
Yum! Great coffee. Great food. Great atmosphere. The staff seem like they really care to make sure your experience with them is fantastic. Definitely coming back to try more of their dishes.

Ordered Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon: Eggs were cooked well and hollandaise was nice. The muffin was stale and the most ungenerous amount of smoked salmon I've ever had. Also served with two hash browns deep fried and dripping with oil. Needless to say was not worth the $20 I paid and won't be going back. :
