Watched Avatar 2 on xtremescreen 3D first time trying. The screen was a bit wide so it took several minutes of movie play through for me to adjust. The 3D aspect was great and very immersive. Was a bit weird to put on 3D glasses on top of my normal glasses so not too sure what can be done there. Reclining seats were great and something I really appreciate when visiting Hoyts. There seemed to be a lot of popcorn under my seat which was a bit unpleasant but not a huge issue.
The theater was good, however the toilet was bad ! Lack of water flush on the urinair, smell disgusting.
I'm not sure what's changed at the LUX cinema but after attending a screening last night I was floored by the impeccable service. The entire experience made the ticket prices worth it. Although I didn't enjoy the film, new Guy Ritchie, not funny at all! I'll be back because the staff were so helpful and so lovely and everything functioned so well. From our first interaction to our last it was wonderful. Thanks team!
This was our first time to visit Hoysts and have the lux experience. Exceeded my expectations and is far better than gold class and the free soft drink and pop corn was a pleasant surprise. We saw Avatar 2 in 3D which is a must see. The recliners are far superior than gold class and highly recommend you give it a try. All of our interactions with the staff were positive and everyone was super friendly and helpful. We will be back!
It's nice cinema with a super comfortable chair. Good sound as well. Toilet is clean. The price is reasonable.
Hoyts seems to have found the balance of planning to see a blockbuster or just turning up to watch a movie because you have the time. The seats all recline and usually there’s a deal to be found for a good class seat you you want to splurge. Snack bar is great but there’s no healthy options but that doesn’t mean you can’t take some sushi in. Being located in a shopping centre means you can do stuff before or after the movie, so that’s a bonus.
Fantastic experience today from all the staff. I accidentally booked the wrong sessions and after calling up it was fixed straight away and the tickets were ready when I walked in. The Lux cinema was clean and the sweet potato fries are to die for : Well done!
We had an absolutely appalling experience at Lux theatre on Saturday. I'm not sure if Hoyts' staff is badly trained, or they don't know how to handle those new cheap paper tea cups – but whatever the reason, a member of your stuff tipped a cup of scalding hot tea over on my wife's foot at the theatre. That caused a nasty burn, we had to cancel all Sunday plans and stay home, which has ruined the whole weekend. Adding to that, not only no one has come to check on us after the movie not to mention – help us to the car, as my wife had trouble walking, but we didn't get even as much as a "sorry" from the management. Absolutely terrible experience, we will stay away from Lux in the future and advise everyone to do the same. Or even better – do go to your local movie theatre instead and support local.
Paid overs for Xtreme screen, not sure what was extreme about it. The sound maybe. Seats comfy but reclining option broken on some. Besides that getting into the plaza took forevs from Parra R missed 20mins of film and at least 20mins to get out. Will Uber next time.
The sound system in Lux cinema 3 is completely broken. The speakers on the entire left-hand side are either incorrectly mixed ie. substantially lower in volume than the speakers on the right side of the cinema or they are malfunctioning. Staff were clearly instructed to downplay this, as when I complained I was told the movie was deliberately mixed with a focus on the right channel and that if I didn't like it I should 'speak to the producer'. Gaslighting customers is a pretty bad look.
