Nice place but can get very expressive if you have a family. Suggest other options. But if you purchase a book of tickets make sure you note down the expiry date. I didn't realise mine were under 9 months not the 12 months I expected they will not honour expired tickets.

6 theatres. Smaller but inviting and new decor makes it comfy. Helpful and friendly staff. Love their popcorn!

04/10/2017 - It has been nearly 3 years (last visited on 3 Jan 2015) since my last visit to this cinema. Things have changed especially the seating inside each cinema. One thing I noticed was there is plenty of legroom and wide individual seat. The sound system has definitely improved. However, the seat was not as comfortable as the Reading Cinema (from The Palms). Nonetheless, it was bearable to sit while watching for 1 hour and 41 minutes (+ trailers...etc.). Just like the Reading Cinema, I bought my ticket online. However, unlike Reading Cinema, I was told to have my electronic ticket to be printed out at one of their counters. They said the rules/ procedures have changed this week. Would I go back to this cinema? Maybe once awhile but definitely not monthly or so (unlike my monthly movie trip to Reading Cinema). Hey, don't let my 2 cents worth of opinion to sway you away from this cinema. Try it and see if you like it or not 😏. Service - ⭐⭐⭐out of 5 stars. Atmosphere - ⭐⭐⭐out of 5 stars. Furniture (i.e. seating) - ⭐⭐⭐out of 5 stars.

always love a Hoyts. should consider do a children's ticket for $2 every Saturday morning like the europeans

My favourite Christchurch movie theatre. Good quality. Odd they don't have lower prices for matinees than evening shows.
