Howick & Eastern Buses started in 1939. We thrived on increasing Customer Satisfaction / Patronage from the very start, 74 years later our principles are very much the same.

Wish I could give zero stars! Dangerous and reckless drivers that will hit you and put the blame on you! I'm sorry but if you hit someone from behind it's a little hard to pin the blame on someone else even a child could tell you what happened! TEACH YOUR DRIVERS TO DRIVE! Getting to the next stop is not more important than peoples lives. Absolutely disgusted with this whole company, a disgrace.

Their service is the worst by far! Drivers speed, brake really fast and hard, go through red lights, often eating at stop lights..so much more. One lady driver wouldn’t give way to her right at the mount Wellington roundabout!! Just terrible.

Why do they have to have the communications back to their office transmission on so loud. I sit down the back and can everything from other drivers when communicating back to the office. It makes an unpleasant journey. Also drivers should not be allowed music on. We aren't allowed music unless its through headphones. Its annoying when we are trying to talk to a passenger next to us, read a book or listen to our own music through headphones. Also most of their drivers have issues, from driving through read lights, not picking passengers up, picking up passengers not at designated bus stops, constantly jerking or breaking hard, being rude to customers. All above is not a one off. I catch the bus several times a week for the past 10 years and all the above happens daily. If I had a choice I would take my car to work or use a different bus provider, however unfortunately H&E is the only service from where I live and parking is not available at my work. Air conditioning is always a problem too, hot in summer and freezing in winter. I've caught other bus's during the day and those buses are fine so it appears an issue with H&E maintaining the air conditioners or learning how to use them. The only good thing I can say, is they do have a few really good drivers, maybe 5% and are friendly and welcoming and know how to drive.
