The Hotel Spencer is a Melbourne icon with 100 years of rich history. Originally built in 1916, it still stays true to its classic roots. Good old fashioned hospitality, atmosphere and pub grub is what we’re all about. Our 12 rotating taps give you plenty of choice in craft and classic beer styles, and we have a good range of wines and spirits too. We welcome a diverse group of patrons, so whether it’s a work lunch, after work tradies' drinks, or a pre-event family lunch, our doors are always open! We can cater to your little ones too, just give us a call beforehand. With a convenient location, just a short stroll from Southern Cross station or Etihad stadium, it’s the ideal place to kick off a night on the town or relax after a game.

This was a birthday trip and I was really looking forward to it in general the hotel is well placed close to Connolly train station with easy access to the Luas tram. The hotel has a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious and clean. We were not expecting a bathroom that was adapted for someone with medical issues and the raised toilet seat is a fixed item which could not be removed. Being only 5 foot tall I could not put my feet on the ground when using the toilet, I told my daughter it was like going back to toilet training as a child. No one had told her it was an adapted room when she booked, she was disappointed so check when you book that it is a standard room. The morning breakfast is very good.
Lovely quiet hotel. Rooms were very clean, beds extremely comfortable and the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were tasty and there were plenty of options. The location is amazing for getting around Dublin. The car park is just across the road and you can pay per hour or a daily rate -part of staying in Dublin, I guess. Overall we had a lovely time there.
The location is perfect - it's overlooking the river and Central Dublin is on walking distance. The room was clean however when we arrived the sink was clogged, one of the lamps wasn't working and there was only one pair of slippers and a bathrobe. The staff was helpful and resolved this pretty quickly. The double bed was two mattresses put together and they weren't very comfortable for me. Also our room was on the first floor and it was a bit noisy. Breakfast was very good in the restaurant but on the last day when we requested takeaway breakfast as we were checking out early, I wasn't impressed with the package they gave us. The price is a bit high compared to what they are offering.
Lovely breakfast, nice staff. Pool is ok, nice for youngsters. Room was clean and good size. Staff are friendly and accommodating... It just didn't live quiet up to the cost and this is why it missed the fifth star from me. There was no view, it's a bit out of town, the air con is noisy... But otherwise it was a great stay.
This is our third stay in this super efficient but friendly hotel and once again nothing disappointed us. Some of the faces may change but the great service and friendly atmosphere remain. Late check no problem, late reservation in the fantastic restaurant again no problem even on a very busy evening. The atmosphere created around the bar by the very experienced team is amazingly friendly and efficient and it's a pleasure to watch the cocktails being made so effortlessly. Thanks to everyone once again for making us feel so welcome. temsin
The bar and restaurant of this hotel are great. There is a great variety of cocktails. The staff is really friendly and service is great. There is a good enough menu not too big, not too small - with a few interesting options.
We stayed for a week and the service was incredibly awesome, rooms were so clean and in a great location. Walking distance to downtown, the view of the river is so awesome at night. However they have to improve with their breakfast and fix the elevator it was broken for at least 2 consecutive daysRooms: 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Spencer Hotel in Dublin. My work team came here for an Autism Conference and the hotel is located so close to the convention center few minutes walk that it was the best choice for us. The hotel is overall clean and provides good costumer service. The city center is also close by and we were able to walk to most of our activities and sights in town. Some rooms were a bit more modern than others, but were still good in size and cleanliness. The breakfast was great as well. The only things I wish were different is the weekend breakfast time and the room walls were thin. Our conference was also active on Saturdays and the hotel offers special rate/ deals for it. However, we were unable to attend the breakfast on Saturday as it was a later start date 8 am instead of 7 am. I think most guests would have preferred an earlier breakfast to be able to eat before the sessions start. The other things are the rooms. The walls seem thin and all the noises travel. At night I could hear loud music and noises from the hallway. My room was located close to the elevator and I could hear the arrival sound every time someone entered the elevator. It sounded a bit like a door bell that was used quite often. The reception staff was nice, but I wanted to point out the receptionist Thomas who was kind and helped us out with different things such as wake up calls, luggage storage and more. Thank you for your help and hard work. The hotel provides city maps, taxi service assistance and there are plenty of food options around walking distance. I would recommend this hotel and would come back here again in the future.
While staff were friendly, this is not a 4 star environment and completely overpriced. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was very small and there was construction outside from 7.30am. The whole 3rd floor was also being refurbished so lots of paint, trip hazards and trades people. We moved to 6th floor for day 2 which was better. Location is good.
Very good location, nice rooms especially towards the river front. The only not so good thing is the breakfast spread. Very less variety and absolutely no change in the menu was there for 6 nightsRooms: 4/5
