Overall, a nice night out - the food is pretty good. The portions and quality is there. We ordered fried chicken taquitos and chicken wings for appetizers. The taquitos were really good, and the wings were good, but pretty typical pub style. Mains were chicken nachos and a chicken burrito, which were also pretty good. For drinks we had pina coladas and margaritas, and I ended up also having a Corona which strangely was served without a lime - at a Mexican restaurant, of all things. The owner has mentioned in other reviews that they are in the process of renovating, which is good, because the atmosphere was not aligned with what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. It was very much a pub that happens to serve Mexican food. Keen to come back and see what it's like when the renovations are done.
Went for a meal at 12pm and was led outdoors to an outside section due to construction. Tried the doors but locked. Male staff member looked at us and continued on what he was doing. Amazed we just walked off and got a good meal elsewhere. Lady at bar was very nice. I won't come back again
Friday afternoon last minute decision to have an early dinner. Turned into the busy carpark as used for the drive through. Managed to find a few spare spaces this I'd at 5:40pm. Walked in to the Condesa entrance. The entire restaurant was empty except for 2 tables of 2. Waiter sat us directly next to those two tables as all of us did not have bookings. First impressions is the restaurant is very dated. I ordered a beef burrito bowl but received chicken. Luckily I enjoy chicken and didn't mention anything to the waiter. Overall food was good but the decor and fit out is tired and needs a revamp.
Lovely service and great food as well! $10 lunch deals were great and a big menu as well. Definitely worth checking out for lunch or dinner.
I come here regularly for lunch, I forgot to post about this place until i came here again today. Although the pub that has been converted to a Mexican restaurant is slightly dated the food makes up for it, Reasonably priced, good tasting food and the service is great ! I believe from what I heard, one of the lucky Lapitas from North Adelaide old chefs inspired the menu. Keep up the good work, shame the place isn't as busy as it should be
Tawny was wonderful in helping me organise a large group to visit the hotel royal for lunch. All of the platters and drinks were great, our guests had an excellent time. Thank you
Food was fantastic! Vegetarian Nachos, Beef Quesadilla and Beef Burrito Bowl were some of the best we’ve tasted in Adelaide. We booked expecting Tex Mex but were pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to returning!
Really tasty Mexican food! The guacamole had some plantain chips, which was really nice. The tacos were super delicious. Although the jackfruit taco was slightly too sweet. We looooooved the chargrilled octopus - favourite dish for sure. The pork ribs were amazingly tender. The meat fell off the bone. Will visit again .
was actually really surprised to read that this place was pub/mexican cuisine after driving past everyday for so long and seeing the addition of condesa. you would think ???? about mexican at a pub however i had the freshest tastiest quesadilla here! and when you ask for cheese on the side they actually give you cheese! the perfect amount! the sangria was great, fruity and fresh, and a jug was super affordable. definitely will come back to try the endless array of dishes from both menus.
We had the grilled octopus, chicken asado, pork enchiladas and fish taco. The food was generally OK, we were quite disappointed that the $15 entree chicken dish came with what seemed like half a piece of a chicken thigh served on top of a mountain of vegetables. There we lots of burned bits too, not the burned stuff that you deglaze for flavour, but the burnt bitter bits that should've been thrown away. The fish taco was OK, there's definitely better fish tacos elsewhere. However the pico de gallo in the Octopus dish was delicious - it had the right level of tanginess and wasn't too sweet. The octopus itself was nicely cooked and tender too. The enchiladas were one of my favourites in town as it wasn't creamy and mushy; the dish was well balanced by their tomato salsa and creaminess didn't overpower the pork; the enchiladas also had a slight chew to it. Other than that our table was a bit small for the no. of plates we ordered but we managed. Staff were quick with service and attentive too. We might return to try other dishes on their menu.
