Not a bad Hotel considering it’s age. Can definitely sense it came from the era of the late eighties early nineties. Room was very clean and spacious, as was the car park. Loved having a balcony overlooking the city. Reception staff as well as the additional workers we met were all polite and made you felt welcome. The lift was - different. I can see why it comes with a notice that jumping is prohibited as it can lock up the lift and comes with a $700 fee to get you out. Maybe time to reinvest?
Have stayed at Lord Forrest a couple of times this year and have found the rooms we have stayed in to be well maintained and very clean even though the hotel is quite a few years old now. Staff are helpful and friendly. In one room we stayed in we found there was a lot of noise from the air conditioning blowing in under the door at night but we rolled up a towel and used it as a draught stopper and that fixed it. Location is excellent as you are right in the city area for dining out and entertainment.
Unfortunately this hotel has past its use by date and is need of a major refurbishment, the premises is really showing its age and the decor doesn't help, not to mention the lifts - once you have traveled in them you will understand. Curtains are a waste of time and don't block out light at all so be prepared to wake up at sunrise when the sun comes streaming through Lots of noise from other guests at night or construction work not sure which but didn't get a whole lot of sleep Nasty whistling noise coming from gaps around the room door, seems due to an air pressure difference between room and hallway, door seals obviously need attention Bar closed Sunday night so had to order a drink from the restaurant, $15 for a rum and coke in a glass, nothing like price gouging your house guests. To be fair, food was good and friendly service from all staff There has to be better places to stay in Bunbury.
Where to start.. what an incredible stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff and incredible food! I've stayed in multiple 5-star hotels around the world and none even slightly compared to the quality at Lord Forrest. The rooms were newly renovated with views of the ocean, comfortable temperature and quiet despite being a busy hotel. The buffet breakfast was phenomenal, with so many options to choose from; the bar for a few drinks was quiet and friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant on our last night and were excited about the huge portions and great taste of the food. Location was perfect as a base for our trip, with easy access to the highways to go on day trips all around the Southwest. Close proximity to incredible restaurants like Benesse and The Last Slice. I know I'll be staying here again the next time I'm back in WA!
First of all, the location is the best for the hotel, and you can walk around the area to grab a coffee or try the restaurants near there. Bur terrible story happened, As we are the travel pass Bunbury and stay there for two nights. After we back to our room on the night of the first day, we found our big box of food disappeared which we put on the table back the doorwhere put the snaps area, we called reception and they replied I have to find the housekeeper the second morning. but they don't check the videos records and no one comes out to explain to us anything, just reply us the housekeeper who cleaned our room didn't take away any with a bad attitudeThe manager of the housekeeper, we called the police then. but can not find back our lost things anymore. what an impressive experience, and I won't book it anymore also my friends and family. What a big joke this big hotel! I cannot believe that when customers lost things in their room, no one comes out to provide help but with a bad attitude. I don't think it is a safe place to stay, and they are racist obviously. I don't think they can provide friendly and patient service. One more thing is the phone doesn't work, no one can fix it. This hotel can not provide good room-phone for customers. GOD...
My stay at Best Western was quite good. I was here for work so really I was just there for sleeping. However I was given a decent size room that was like a suite and it was a nice comfort stay. The hotel has some oldness to it; the quality of the furnishings and stuff in the room was dated and the lifts were rickety. The mirrors in my room had gold trimming which you could see had been damaged and had captured dirt but that would be so hard to clean so I wouldn't say that the place is dirty at all just that it's a bit old. The one staff member I spoke to was nice and helpful when I asked questions.
Great location, very central. Spacious carpark underneath is a massive plus. Staff are extremely kind and helpful! Room service is affordably priced and came very quickly. I usually avoid hotels due to being a smoker however this place allows smoking on the balcony with the door closed. The room was clean and presentable and we will definitely be back.
Pros: great location Good rooms considering its age Cons: Bad service. The sullen Indian man on service desk should not be in customer service with the below average service. I'd expect more fake positivity from a customer service front desk facing role. He was reluctant to help with payment hold amount that was booked for business travel purpose and threatened to refuse check-in. I'd be inclined to not recommend my organisation to use this hotel next time with his poor attitude. Found that other staff were way more helpful, competent and excellent.
Had lunch in the restaurant on two occasions this week. Food cooked and presented to perfection, waiter very efficient & friendly. No loud music drowning out the table conversation, all in all a pleasant dining experience.Service: 5/5
Only decent thing about this place is the location. Room was dated, bed was uncomfortable, black mould in the bathroom from lack of ventilation - steam fills the bathroom from a shower. Wifi was horrible, only 1 wifi network for the whole hotel so no netflix as advertised. ‘Ocean view’ from the 3rd floor is mostly the Officeworks over the road and the tiniest bit of ocean. Nothing superior about the Superior King Room with an Ocean View.
