Have I not reviewed this pub before. This is a classic that will stand the test of time. The publican is a nice bloke. The staff can match the patrons of all levels. The recent renovations turn this place into more than just a pub across the road from the station. From Korean fried chicken to top self whiskey. The beer selection is on point from locals to internationals. The sports bar up the front is pretty cool and modern while the gambling den out the back does it's thing. Oh apparently it's a rave now at night . Sick ones.
The best meal we have had in a long while! We turned up without a booking early on a Saturday night and we were squeezed in by the super friendly staff. Service was friendly and efficient, the vibe was happy and our meals were top notch. Special mention for the beef rib and the rump steak, both hubby and my brother were VERY happy. Kids Bolognese was really good, too. We will most definitely be back again very soon!
Would recommend for a cheap and comfortable stay. I was here for 5 nights by myself, everything was recently renovated, extremely clean and smelled good. Bathrooms were shared but the showers heated up quickly. Efficient check in and check out. Convenient with the supermarket and bus stop just across the street.
There used to a time when going to a pub in Gosford was a brave move. Not anymore. Hotel Gosford has undergone a major renovation and is now a foodie destination on the Coast. Beautiful, open plan space. Massive, impressive drinks list. Food menu really good. Will recommend to others and will be back again.
We where just traveling through and on the hunt for some food when arrived at the hotel which is beautiful around 3:45pm, the waitress was very friendly telling us lunch had finished at 3:30 she was sorry but we’re welcome to stay and order snacks and share plates … when what seemed to be the head chef was passing and said we could order anything we like and they will make it happen! The food was outstanding as was the service and the Ambiente very happy thanks , would recommend anytime and will be back for sure :
Super impressed with Hotel Gosford! An amazing fit out, with a fireplace, huge tvs that are smartly scattered so they don't distract from the ambiance and high cathedral ceilings. It's lit just dimly enough so you can relax, but not too dark that you can't read the menu. The food was fantastic I enjoyed a steak cooked perfectly and the truffle chips are incredible. What was most impressive was the customer service - after strolling around for a minute or two taking it all in, a lovely server asked if I needed any assistance - when I told him it's my first time at HG, he was so helpful in finding a table, bringing menus, checking in to see if we were enjoying everything, etc. Well done to the management of HG - you've won yourself a new regular. Thanks!
Fabulous lunch today with the family at the refurbished Hotel Gosford. Food was the best we have eaten on the Coast.. so much flavour and presentation was first class. With brilliant service and gorgeous interior it is bound to become a favourite hang out in Gosford
Amazing staff who went above and beyond at my daughters 21st birthday dinner. Fantastic food and atmosphere… the staff were always checking that everything was ok. Our whole family, many who traveled from Sydney, commented that everything was perfect!!! Thank you for a memorable night.Service: 5/5
Great for a normal meal or catch up with friends, but avoid for functions at all costs. When booked as a function, the first person that arrives starts the kitchen producing meals for everyone. We had 25+ people for a function, and they started delivering meals for all 25 upon the arrival of just 4 people. They then made the rest of us feel like we were an impediment on their evening and couldn't wait to get us out. Not great for a corporate function. We'll be going for a different venue next year.
I went to the Gosford Hotel with a friend for dinner and just HAD to write a review! We had the cauliflower salad and the pear salad and I cannot say enough about how beautiful they were to eat! We then went onto the dark ale pudding and the lemon tart and they were also divine. The staff were also amazing. They all stopped for a quick chat, even though they were very busy. I cannot rate this place high enough tbh! I'll be back... With bells on!
