I have stayed in a lot of hostels since being in Australia and I have to say surprisingly this is one of the worst.nnThe rooms are nice, but the bathroom facilities are poor, one shower and toilet between 8 people is not ideal. There were no alternative showers so there was a bit of a wait to get out in the morning.nnThe kitchen is poor, you cannot cook anything in there and it is very small for the amount of people the hostel takes.nnThe social space is good but the lack of events made this a difficult place to meet people.nnOverall it’s very overpriced and I wouldn’t stay again.
If I could give 0 stars I would.nThis was by far the most disgusting, unsafe and scary place I have ever stayed in my life.nNot only did the staff make us feel unsafe with their rude and ignorant communication to the problems we was having but the man we shared a room with was rummaging through our bags thinking we wasn’t there, drunk and very clearly on drugs making us feel extremely unsafe as two young females travelling.nWhen expressing this to the front desk there was no empathy or help provided. They hopelessly looked for the man that clearly wasn’t there but we was instructed to sit there until the man gets back from his night out, absolutely ridiculous.nWhen asked for a refund for our three nights left bare in mind this hostel is the most overpriced I have ever seen and now having to book a n expensive hotel last minute - homeless with no where to stay, we got told it’s 50/50 we’ll even get a refund which is insanity with the price of this place, the lack of facilities and terrible staff experience.nAddy at the desk was no help, the blonde lady at the reception was extremely rude no surprise there has been other previous bad reviews about this member of staff and said ‘well you’ll have to book another hostel we can’t refund you’ leaving us homeless with no remorse - as a woman this shocked me, would love to see her to try to sleep that scared.nAll I can describe this place is like a bar full of men and rooms to go with. No sense of community or a safe environment for solo/ travellers. We walked out of our room every night being stared at and even wolf whistled on one occasion.nPlease do not stay at this hostel they are just greedy for money and that’s all they care about, not your safety.
The price is high compared to other hostels, but considering the cleanliness, it’s a noticeable difference. The high ceilings make it feel spacious, even if you’re on the top bunk, which is high enough that you won’t see anyone passing below. The common area in the hostel is very spacious, and most of the guests seem to be students.nnThe beds are very clean, and the shared bathroom in the 4-person female dorm is also well-maintained.nnI didn’t use the sheared kitchen area, so I can’t comment on the cleanliness as mentioned in other reviews. However, for a short stay, I’d say this place offers great value.
It’s not social it’s just a bed for a night.nnThis place is great for a short stay and late check in. Location is central and easy to find.nnShared rooms means you get guests making their bed above you at 2am and leaving at 6 am.nnIt’s a high price and the facilities are pathetic. The kitchen is a waste of space, unable to cook at all. There are no shared showers so you have 1 shower between 8 people.nnStaff are very nice though and they keep it clean.
Good location, comfortable rooms but a bit dirty in some parts, and the main area is too dark no sunlight and too noisy. It's definitely not worth spending that much. When I went there, it was between 50 to 100$ per night, but it should be around 30$.
