I wish I could post about my stay. But I didn’t even get to.nnI booked a single room with no roommates.nnUpon arrival, I was turned away because my government issued, in date, valid department of transport photo ID card, isn’t allowed at this establishment.nnApparently only Drivers Licenses and passports are valid here. I don’t drive due to medical issues and quite frankly can’t afford to leave the country so a passport is an expensive purchase when not travelling so it’s not needed.nnI asked for a refund as this policy isn’t widely known here. Refused at check in. Asked to speak to a higher up. No one available till 7am the next day. Meaning my 1 single nights stay, all paid for, I wasn’t even allowed to check in for or get help with, till I basically would be checking out the next day.nnI have attempted to contact via email and have been ignored. I, a young woman, was basically left homeless in the streets of northbridge for the night due to this insane policy and lack of compassion. I was to stay for 1 night, couldn’t even get a refund to find somewhere else that would take my legal, valid id.
The rooms were great—though the standard ones are a bit tight, the beds were very comfortable. It's a short walk into the city centre, making it super convenient. Not the most social atmosphere, but perfect for getting some work done in peace.
Hostel G has a lady working in the front desk that is obviously racist as she wouldn’t except my sons ID in his phone them tried to say it wasn’t his booking and what proof did he have from a previous booking a few nights ago she tried to say the person with the same name and date of birth had a different coloured eyes what a joke this place is!! Not to worry we have all the evidence we need to take this matter further thank you Hostel G for th racism we will be seeing you in court..

I was placed in a 4-bed two bunk beds room consisting of both guys and girls. The location of the hostel is convenient, the room and toilet were absolutely spotless surprisingly, given the usual hostel shenanigans! There is also a kitchenette, with a number of fridges, which is a common area shared by everyone there. It's not the cleanest area, given that some guests do not clean after themselves, but its good enough.nnPeople there generally mind their own business. Most of them work on their laptops and have their headphones on, which is cool if you are looking for a nice and quiet stay.nnDo note that you have to bring your own towels and toiletries, as none of these are provided.nnOverall, for the price I have paid, I have no complaints about Hostel G. Will definitely book this hostel the next time I visit Perth.
