A long way in by road. Best to go by boat. Worth staying there. Hosts are extremely welcoming and the place is superb 4 nights should be a minimum.

Such a lovely place. Beautiful location, beautiful surroundings, nice staff, awesome jacuzzi next to the sea. Hard to get there by car, boat (water taxi) would be an option.

On the water taxi trip over from Te Mahia (which was organised by the team at Hopewell) I was telling Mike that I'd had a sub-par experience at another hotel. His response: "Well, we'll have to make this one better for you." I wasn't disappointed. Even putting aside the beautiful surroundings and abundance of activities available, my stay at Hopewell was magical. From chasing away a bug that had found its way into my luggage, to ensuring I was as comfortable and happy as possible during my stay, the team at Hopewell took every possible step to make sure this was one of the most memorable stays of my life. This is the kind of place you stumble upon and keep coming back to- which is what many of the guests that I met were doing! It was perfectly clean. Well appointed. There were many options for fun (think cycling, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, glow worm tours, fishing and hiking) or if you are like me then some beautifully placed hammocks for just lazing about. I was lucky enough to catch one of the mussel cook-ups: I sat around a communal table of people from around the world. We shared stories, had drinks, and ate fresh fetched mussels that were prepared in front of us. I must recommend heartily the pizzas that are made fresh on site. I ordered one on a whim and, I must admit, probably made a bit of a scene motoring it down as it was just delicious. The only challenge now is trying to find an excuse to head back over that way with family and friends.

Super lodge! Great place to relax at the “end of the world”. Super nice people that are running the place! Thanks again for the birthday cake and all the good care.

Most amazing beautiful place. With lovely owners. They help you with everything and they are so kind. It is a paradise. Love laughter beauty fun
