Nice little park in Elsternwick, not too far from the town centre. Great for taking your dog for a quick walk on-leash there's little off-leash area and fairly close to the road, but you can at certain times we think. A nice children's playground at one side, and a few signposts with some interesting information. Great when the flowers and trees are blooming.
I enjoy my short walks in Hopetoun Gardens. I go early in the morning when we are permitted to let our dogs off-leash. It's well maintained by Glen Eira council with a formal garden, a band stand and plenty of benches and picnic tables. The beautiful old trees are well signed so its educational too. Look out for the cork tree and the turpentine tree. Would be good to have an off-leash time in the evenings too.
Great little park featuring some truly amazing trees including a cork tree, a huge oak, and a massive South African Cape bush willow. Each tree has an identifying plate. If kids are your thing, there’s a playground and if dogs are your thing then they’re allowed off leash between 6 - 9 in the morning. Take a moment to read the plaque and learn a little about the cannons at the entrance which have been there since 1910!
Such a great use of Green space. Hopetoun Gardens are great for dogs and little children, complete with some of the best climbing trees in Melbourne. Playground: Hopetoun Gardens have a small playground for little children. Restrooms: There is one public toilet that is generally clean. Dog-friendliness: The whole park is really dog friendly and is good for dog walking.
Lockdown made easier with sun and a park nearby.
Lovely gardens with two historic cannons and several mature trees and grassy open spaces. Playground and a toilet.
Stunning park with canons. Kids like to play near the canons and ask questions about wartime so be prepared with some answers. I think the playground plus area for kicking a footy is fantastic too!
I was invited by a friend to stay the night and it was great. More like a small apartment. Spacious Open plan kitchen/living area. Separate bedroom and bathroom with laundry Overall, great facilities. Enjoyed my brief stay.
Great little local park. Dogs allowed off leash between 6am - 9am. Birds swooping at the moment so be aware.
Full of adults who wouldn't or couldn't wear a face mask covering nose and mouth. Many didn't even try. Not recommended during lockdown.
