Reaching out into the community; meeting needs and connecting with individuals to make a difference...because LIFE can be better
By attending community meetings and forums, HopeLINK strives to listen to the concerns and needs of the community. Through networking with other organisations and agencies, HopeLINK can stay abreast of current social needs in the area, as well as glimpse future forecasts that will have an impact on the needs of the Gladstone community.
Through this intervention, HopeLINK acts proactively through programs, makes necessary referrals and discusses potential solutions to community needs.
As a community advocate, HopeLINK struggles determinedly to help build a stronger Gladstone community.
To identify social needs within the community and seek to establish interventions to address these.
To engage and equip the members of the Gladstone Churches of Christ, the wider christian community and the general public in service to the community.
To train and equip individuals in order to empower them to lead better lives.
To negate the effects of dis-empowerment on marginalised and/or vulnerable groups in the community (e.g. youth, women, migrants and the disabled).
To strengthen the community by equipping people to help each other.
To connect people and organisations to assist with immediate needs.
To offer practical support, encouragement and assistance where none exists.
