From the moment I walked into the premises, I was greeted by others and introduced to people. I have been to other churches in the past where I was completely ignored or felt like I wasn't welcome. Hope Centre has become my family away from family for the past seven years. I couldn't imagine doing life on my own without the community of people around me to love and support each other. If you are looking for a church that not only does church on a Sunday, but serves in the community, runs and hosts events, assists with people in need and helps you feel that you are valued, then Hope Centre is definitely worth your time.
Wonderful church filled with genuine Jesus followers
I went to their free Christmas lunch on Christmas day. The positives were the lovely, friendly people from the church and it really is a beautiful, air-conditioned venue. The tables were made up to look really beautiful.nnThe negatives were simply that despite there being about 15 tables for 10 people at a table all beautifully decorated, only about 30 members of the general public showed up. This is despite it showing as booked out on Eventbrite. I spoke to a lady who had attended a couple of years ago and she said it had been a full hot meal with roast meats and vegetables then and the place was totally full. I really just went to escape a family Christmas all of my family live in Brisbane, so was happy, but the food was basically a sausage sizzle and salads and day old white bread buns. There was cold trifle in little individual cups for dessert but I didn't try that. Also, I'm not religious but they do grace and it goes on for ages, making it a bit uncomfortable for unbelievers.nnI think that maybe they reverted to sausage sizzle and salad last year and that is why people didn't come along this year, even if they booked just in case something better didn't materialise.nnBut I went away happy with the kindness and warmth of the church organisers. I can have a good meal some other time.
Attended a 2-day Disaster Chaplaincy Training, with QDCN.nGreat facilities.nDown the road from Merlo Coffee which was a huge benefit for those early mornings
Very good community events and good music and preaching Sunday school youth group and great pastors. Modern facilities and Hope Academy next door. Services are over in 1hr and only 15 mins worship hardly chance to get into worship before interrupted with long notices and preaching to put money in offering every single service gets a bit boring so I have to go elsewhere to get more worship time in church but if you like a short structured service with many people to meet but not much room for Holy Spirit to move then this is the place for you.
