Unfortunately has gone downhill dramatically. Ordered over the phone. Was only told on pick up that they didn't have some items so some people only had chips to eat. Got home and for $36 was super disappointed with both quality and quantity of remaining items, and missing one part of the order completely. $11 for a large chips that was barely a handful each for family of 3. Will drive to Bruns instead.
I think that was the best fish and chips we have ever had, we had crumbed Barramundi, and the American beef burger was a masterpiece! The wait time was long, but there were quite a lot of people due to the incredible food, otherwise the staff were incredibly friendly and apologetic of the wait time. Even though I live in Queensland, I will certainly be coming back!
SRecently changed owners and the first time I went since the change it was overcooked. Second time food is good, fish was fresh and moist, chips were a little undercooked but everything else was great including the calamari! New owners/ staff are much friendlier and the inside has been renovated to be clean and modern.
Best Fish and chip Shop weve honestly ever tasted. The fish was so fresh, and cooked to perfection. the batter was a perfect crunchy texture, not in the least bit oily. To top it all off the lady at the front counter greeted us with a smile, was professional and super friendly. We will definately be back.
It's great when it's great, but chip quantity and quality has been coming down over the past year. Used to feed 4 adults with a large 11$ worth of chips serving, last order it was 400grams, barely enough for 2. Sometimes the chips are hollow and crunchy. Disappointed. But i keep going for the times when it all goes well and it's delicious.
Beautiful, fresh, tasty fish. The best in town! The chips were also amazing last time. I always make the extra trip to Hooked and Cooked for fresh fish rather than buy it from a big supermarket where the quality is no where near as good.
So nice. The best one around. We tried Calamari, prawns, Dori & chips... So Perfect!!! And they are so smiling, a pleasure come to eat here!!! You have to try!
The quality of the product from this place is nose-diving. Maybe I'm just old, but to me a fish 'n' chip shop was always just that - you go in, place your order and they cook it. I went there recently and ordered some fish $50/kg and chips. I knew that I would be charged extra for them to cook it, but silly me didn't realize that because I wanted the fish grilled I would be charged an extra dollar why? and that because it was a Saturday I would cop a weekend surcharge and that when I paid I got another surcharge because I wasn't paying cash. Are you people serious?! The fish was watery and tasteless and the chips were old, small, hollow and the serve itself was very tiny - no great loss as it turned out. The only thing more unpleasant than the food was the young girl serving that day. This place really needs a more appropriate name, like "Hooked & Gouged" or "Reeled In & Ripped Off". Never again.
Worst ever , ordered dinner went to pick up got home , only half there , went back another 20 minutes to cook the rest , cold food at home , not good enough. Won't be back
