We visited yesterday for the first time, all the way from Dunedin. My oat latte was amazing and nice and hot. Pretty latte art! Food was so unique, dishes that we haven't seen before. We had the mushrooms, salmon meal and the waffles. Incredible food and loved the vibe!
Totally loved the Mediterranean/Turkish/Middle Eastern touch of the menu, didn't have to go for another eggs benedict.... The merguez dish was a dream come true, so many flavours and ingredients, great portion, exotic spices, good sausage! Also the haloumi dish was a great mix of eastern flavours, the egg alone was exciting and the cheese the real thing. Plenty of food. The flat white was excellent as well, honestly haven't had such great coffee in a cafe for a long time. Lots of nice staff around, thanks!
AMAZING brunch spot if you’re looking for something different that still has a breakfast feel to it. Flavorful, beautiful plating, well composed. I’m sad I live so far away because nothing in Tauranga compares to this!
flavours!! Delicious little spot for brunch. The menu was packed full of healthy options. We had the halloumi salad and kumara on toast, both portions were super generous and absolutely delicious. 4 stars because they don’t have a toilet!! Had to go to the pub up the road?? Don’t over do it on the sparkling water
Always so friendly. Coffee lovely and to the rim with heaps of cinnamon. Love the eggs n spinach , well presented. Very generous with the spinach. The touch of. Cheese on the scrambled eggs is so tasty
This a great little breakfast spot in the Grey Lynn part of Auckland. Coffee is on point and well priced. Flat white and long black were delicious. Their breakfast has a lot of middle eastern influences. My wife had the Cilbir eggs which was poached eggs over Greek yogurt with a chili oil, dill, and rosemary. It was a powerfully flavorful dish with a touch of heat, just enough nothing overwhelming. I had the Bones granola which was seasonal fruit, berries, and housemade granola over yogurt with honey. It was a delicious way to start the day. The staff are kind and helpful navigating the menu. Please bear with them as they are dramatically understaffed which can take a while for the orders to make it to the table but believe me it's worth the wait.
I sat outside, relaxed vibe and great service.. I had the fritters with a side of bacon.. really happy with my choice. Egg poached perfectly.. not a runny goobery white in sight! Good strong flat white too.
The food at Honey Bones is excellent, well-priced, and has a lovely Mediterranean twist! The Merguez was delicious with a lovely spiced sausage and dukkah. All the eggs our table ordered were perfectly cooked! Definitely try Honey Bones for a brunch that's a little different from the standard Auckland fair. Coffee was the only downfall for Honey Bones; Supreme beans I think pulled into an average shot with ok milk. Come for the eggs, skip the coffee.
Must be the best brunch spot in the area. I can see why they are so busy, because their food is delicious!Food: 5/5
