If you like to be stuffed around and have little to no communication with a lender since your first initial discussion then HomeStart is the place to go. Their assessment team are fantastic at wasting your time requesting information one week, the getting back to you asking for even more information the following week… Information that has absolutely no relevance to your application nor has any grounds to approve or decline your application.
Have had my loan for 16 years with Homestart and they have been excellent! Always helpful service, understanding and efficient. You have great security with Homestart, whatever the circumstances tgey will always find a way to help you stay in your home. Thank you!
Given the reviews of Alan and others scoring a single star, I’m not surprised. I have a bachelor degree and more than 4 years Govt employment yet I was told I don’t qualify. I’m only here browsing if other people has had similar experience. Very different from what they advertise on TV.
this place is a joke , im only giving one star because i have to.. 4 months going through an application.. to have it cancelled for no reason.. the staff are rude and say they dont know anything when you call or want to speak to someone different..they want a different form every time you call and expect it instantly while you get little or no reply back.. very poor service
Every single person I have spoken with over the phone, have had completely different information and calculations! - based on exact same information provided. Every single person working at Homestart, have completely wasted my time, each and every time. The information provided differs dramatically with each new person you get.. And not one person there confirms the same, they all have different knowledge in what they apparantly offer. Beyond ridiculous differences. Their website calculations are also wayyyyyy off.

We have just purchased our first home through homestart. Our loan consulted was Josie Chapman and she was fantastic. She went above and beyond for us, in making sure we were able to secure our dream home. She gave us options that we had never heard of and ultimately got us the house that we wanted. We are so grateful for everything she has done for us and all the effort she put in. Would 100% recommend her and homestart.
We bought our first home through Homestart's Morphett Vale office. Our Loan Consultant was Josie and she was absolutely amazing. Even though the application process was more thorough than we expected, there were no delays once we found our dream home. The team went above and beyond to process the loan as fast as possible, and to find the right loan for us.
Excellent customer service! David has given me all the necessary information to make my dream home purchase happen. Compared to banks they seem to be way more aware of the real estate market, way more informed, at least David was. They might not offer the best rate in the market, but you get value for your money here. All the assistance is very worth it. Would definitely recommend.
Dale A was amazing!! I spoke to Dale 6 months before applying and just asked him about the process and how much I needed to save. Dale A kept in touch and walked through the whole process and explained very well and clearly laid out all the steps. As a first homeowner, it was incredibly overwhelming. Dale A was always very patient and caring and went above and beyond to help me achieve my first house. I would highly recommend Dale A for his customer service and going above and beyond to help me and always being patient. I don't have enough word to describe how thankful I am for him and so very blessed to have him to help me through it all.
