Big shout out to the hospital for the kind and professional service afforded me. Went in for a procedure with Dr Ben Martin and anaesthetist Dr Anderson which was stress free and most helpful. Not the first time I’ve been there and the standards are maintained high. Spent the night being afforded great care with nursing staff that obviously love what they do. Can’t possibly ask for more than that. A big thank you. Nice to be home though.
Mum got admitted and stayed at St Vincent's Chermside for 4 days. Most staff was absolutely fantastic, friendly and caring to the max. Cant commend in particular Debbie, Nat, Ricky, Michelle, and General Physician Dr Matthew Rickard. Their professional expertise was second to none. Not only you helped cured my mum, but made her stay extremely comfortable. Good work team, and keep the good work up!
Drs and male nurses were absolutely amazing. Shout out to thorough Dr Harris and the wonderful anaesthetist, Dr Luke Heywood. Discharge nurses were great, thank you for making me feel so comfortable and there is nothing better than a good cuppa tea after surgery.nnHOWEVER, female dark haired Ward nurse: Sam, needs to work on her professionalism and bedside manner. Made me wait ages before letting me go to the bathroom. When I finally got to go, she picks up my bloody surgery undies and waves like flag as “evidence” in front of another nurse and direct opposite patient. Unprofessional and highly uncalled for! Sam kept loudly stating she couldn’t get in touch with my contact for pick up who only received one missed call then proceeded to lie to me and stated my contact my mother! said “she didn’t know she was collecting” me which contact never said - why would I not have organised a collection with a family member who dropped me off at the hospital in the first place? Sam’s behaviour was not needed when myself as a patient should be reassured, not gaslit. Found her extremely sarcastic, recovering patients don’t deserve this.nnHospital is also dated, parking was a maze and toilets were a shocker, but Drs definitely make up for this.
My husband, Jayson Gutierrez, underwent open-heart surgery on April 1, 2025, where two of his heart valves were replaced with artificial ones and a third valve was successfully repaired. Your kindness and attentiveness made a world of difference.nnA heartfelt thank you as well to all the nurses in Ward 2C, particularly Nurse Anna Hurst, whose kindness and empathy allowed me to stay by my husband's side overnight when he needed me the most. Anna’s warmth and approachable spirit were a true source of comfort to us both.nnTo Nurse Leah, Nurse Bec, Nurse David, Nurse Adam, Nurse Lilian, Nurse Gigi, and all the other wonderful nurses whose names we may have forgotten — thank you so much for your exceptional care, patience, and compassion.nnTo all the physiotherapists who helped Jayson regain his strength — thank you for your encouragement, patience, and belief in his recovery. Your guidance through simple exercises and walking sessions helped him rebuild his confidence and physical strength. We are deeply grateful for your role in his healing journey.nnTo the kind receptionist and the entire team at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside — thank you for making us feel like we had a family with us during one of the most challenging times of our lives.nnFrom the bottom of our hearts — thank you all.nnAt this point of time, he is still on his recovery period with full of hope and determination.
I was discharged yesterday after surgery and I need to say that my experience with every aspect of St Vincent's Northside was a pleasant surprise .By the professional excellence of Prof Stevenson and anaesthetist Dr David Anderson I felt comfortable and felt my confidence in them even before the procedure began.nAlso, from the caring nurses to the kitchen staff to the cleaning staff - ALL were helpful and pleasant. Just the best private hospital experience I have had in Brisbane.nTo foster this culture, I see that it must come from the top and I congratulate you!nThank YounLois Stratford.
