Good view from our table. Nice food and staff. Good price.
Great food. Big serves. Friendly staff. ...they even sang happy birthday to me! Now that they have a lift anyone can get upstairs to enjoy the great views.
Don't go there. Leave all the steaks for us. We want there for dinner for the first time since the new owners took over and the makeover looks good. Loving the new elevator. Dinner was great. A couple of very small things were missed and they were fixed immediately and the staff were very helpful. The very generous manager gave us free desserts. Wonderful food. Wonderful customer service.
The waitress was lovely and really attentive to our needs. It was also positive to see students on holidays being provided with training in the hospitality industry who were also equally attentive with service skills and presentation. The extras on our plates were great, but the chicken was dry and unsatisfying.
I visited this restaurant today for a late lunch with my daughter. We stood at the "please wait to be seated" sign for a number of minutes while staff finished up a non-work related private conversation with one another before facing the obvious inconvenience of seating us. The restaurant was near to empty, but we waited patiently for 15 minutes before physically finding a wait person to take our order. The drink and entree arrived within a reasonable time frame and the fried cheese entree we shared was fine, but what could really go wrong with fried cheese! After other patrons that had ordered after us received their meals and they were happily eating, our meals arrived. The food was a disgrace!!! We had both ordered some type of burger and the salad made my stomach turn, it looked as though they had been using up the same salad since before Christmas. I picked up a piece of brown, wilted lettuce from the side salad that was actually slimy and dissolving around the edges from age and presented it to the waitress, where upon she asked me what I wanted her to do about it. I asked her to explain to the chef that serving food in this state was unacceptable. Meanwhile, my daughter had explored the salad on her burger, which was also smelly, brown and liquefying. At this point we made the decision to leave without paying for either our drinks or the fried cheese sticks. I had quite a heated discussion with the waitress about the quality of the food, but it was obvious to me that none of the staff at Hog's Breath Cafe Terrigal cared about the quality of service and they especially did not care one bit about the substandard, decaying food being offered to their customers. I would go so far as to say that they made a conscious decision to use up old food on unsuspecting customers for as long as they could get away with it. The food was shocking, but the "I couldn't care less" attitude of the staff was a close second. I will never, ever, visit ANY Hog's Breath Cafe again based on this experience. Do yourself a favour and don't bother.
We ordered medium rare steaks. Both of them were served medium well done and one was very dry on the side. Garden salad didn't have any dressing on it and caesar side salad was served as it was just shoved from someone else's plate. 450ml drinks served in 350ml glasses but charged full price. Menu provided was not current so when I started ordering I was told that certain meals were discounted. I was asked to order from another menu. At the end my credit card overcharged $9, no apology whatsoever. I haven't seen such unprofessional service for very long time.
Went to celebrate my birthday with family and friends a couple of days ago and the service was horrible. The chicken was undercooked and still pink, The streaks were not cooked to how we asked and our food came out cold. The manager looked stressed and did not look professional, The workers were all over the place and it did not look like there was any communication. I wont go back, I do not recommend going to this place.
I don't usually write restaurant reviews but after coming in for lunch on Sunday with a friend I thought it was worth mentioning the bad & bizarre service. My friend stopped eating briefly to have a sip of her drink with almost half a full plate of food left & I had half of my wrap in my hands and the other half still on the board when the waitress came and tried to clear both plates. After I finished my mouthful and told her I was still eating....which apparently needed to be said....she told us she thought we were done. I might have understood being hurried along a little bit if we were the only table left between the lunch & dinner service or if the table was needed but the restaurant was about 50% full. Have still given 2 stars because I can't fault the food.
I come here every now and then with my partner, and we are never dissapointed! Delicious food, and a beautiful view near the window. Only fault would be waiting time is long, even if restaurant only has a few customers.. Outstanding service, and constantly being looked after.
My husband and I and two friends ate here on Sunday afternoon last. It was a highly disappointing dinner as not one of us were happy with what we got. We ordered our drinks and waited nearly 15 minutes before calling the waitress over to ask where they were. We still had to wait another 5 minutes after that-we ordered 3 bottled beers and a bottled water. Two of us had the cheeseburger-neither of which came with what was ordered, and a side of garlic mushrooms which were completely raw. My husband ordered the chicken and ribs -the ribs were ice cold, like they had just been taken out of the fridge. Another ordered the steak, medium, with garlic prawns. It arrived with a sticky, white almost translucent "sauce" on top which he had to scrape off and his steak was bleeding all over the plate. We would have complained but the 2 staff on duty seemed to vanish as soon as our food was served, almost like they knew! Overall, a very badly spent $116 and we won't be going back.
