Decided to go for lunch. Walking in it reminded me of a Hard Rock Cafe with all the memorabilia and statues around the restaurant. So , I opted for the vegetable wrap that came with fries. It was a lunchtime special. The wrap was extremely fresh loaded with veggies. It was delicious. My partner had ‘what a catch’ a meal of fried and battered seafood. It came with the most tender s&p calamari, fish fillets, prawn twisters. There was a choice of 2 sides, he opted for curly fries and veggies. Overall he said it was good but the veg were served almost raw like they were just dropped in hot water and taken out. Besides being undercooked the broccoli wasn’t the freshest a lot of yellow in the flowers. Both meals were very filling. We sat outside because inside was too hot no ac. There is plenty of seating mainly bench style. If you have kiddies just outside the open windows is a park area there is a track which a type of 2 seater peddle train runs around a track. Good to keep them entertained while waiting for their meal. Staff were friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our meals. So lunch, 2 beers and a soft drink $70. I don’t eat meat but do eat fish and don’t mind a veggie burger both of which aren’t on the menu. The options for pescatarians and vegans etc is limited. In this day and age maybe they could add more of these types of meals to menu. You can check menu online.
Hog’s Breath Cafe does do vegetarian gluten free. Way to go guys, way outside of scope and delicious!
Ordered the fried chicken. Received two very small pieces of chicken, with nearly no meat, that was overcooked and dry. The seasonal veges I ordered as a side were under cooked enough to notice. Fried chicken said it came in a sauce on the menu but none provided with meal. No one came and asked how the meal was going. Gave two stars as the woman at the counter was nice, asked how the meal was, and was apologetic when she heard.
From the first mouthful to the last tonight's steak was amazing. The whole meal was fresh, tasty, cooked just right our table had the steak & garlic prawns. The cheesy garlic bread was awesome. This was by far the best meal I've had at a hogs, I've been to many restaurants, the service was great, drinks came quick, Keep up the great work..would love to know when the hogs cards are in
Staff were friendly, quick service, food was lovely. Check on us to make sure our meal was good. Manager was lovey. She chatted with us and our kids. Great service. Keep it up guys Kid-friendliness: Colour in sheets brought to the table.
We dined in with friends on Saturday night 22/4. The service was good but the food was terrible. We all ordered Prime Rib medium rare which is the recommended way to have it cooked. None of our steaks were cooked to the way we ordered, my steak was close to well done and sooo dry it was inedible. Very disappointed to say the least, when the steaks are priced from $35 each, I expect the quality to be better. We won’t be eating there again
I used to eat at hogs breath a lot the food and atmosphere is great but I had a problem with the lazy or inconsiderate servers, walk into the restaurant and there's only a few other groups in the whole place and you get sat in amongst them, everyone crammed into one area. This last vist was mid week and a mostly empty restaurant and they had the customers spread out, so much better that way, not having to talk over the person behind you because some server was just interested in making their job easier.
My friends and I regularly go out to Hogs Breath for our dinners. Last night was the worst meal. My beef wrap was cold. Another steak was asked to be blue, it was rare. Another steak was tough. The table was dirty, the floor was sticky. Two expensive sundays arrived half melted with stale mud cake piece in it. My meal cost me over $50. With the current climate and cost of living going through the roof, outings are rare. To spend over $50 on a sub par meal is upsetting. With no adult on staff, it’s no point discussing it with them.
Came here for lunch today and we waited 15-20 minutes before someone came over to take our order for drinks and food. We got our food first before our drinks even came out. We only ordered one cocktail and a glass of sparkling wine. When the drinks finally came out, the wine had a quarter gap in the top and wasn't even full, yet they charge $10. I couldn't believe they served it to us and I asked her to fill it up properly. The service was absolutely horrible and we waited way too long when it wasn't even busy. There was only one big table of 8 and a few other couples in the restaurant. Very disappointing considering last time I went to a Hogs on the sunshine coast it was the best experience. The ribs weren't even hot when they arrived and the platter for 2 was pretty disappointing. Paid $100 for a horrible time. Over priced and will never go here again, niether will my partner.
Great decor. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. The food and drink service was quick. Plenty to choose from the menu, the drinks choices are also good. Plenty of seating. Meals were generous and yummy. Quite expensive, particularly the steaks but they were good steaks. Shame you have to pay $2.95 for a gravy on the side when the meal is already quite expensive for steaks. A lot of other places usually include a gravy with the steak. Oh well. Overall a good experience.
