The venue overall is a little rundown, with some elements pudding clear risks to participants!nnThe cafe and bar is great for enhanced socialising, but the menu is quite old school.
Never been to a field hockey match in my life but thoroughly enjoyed Saturday finals day out here immensely. The vibe and atmosphere was great.nThe boys with the mobile esky selling beers was timed to perfection - right when i was at my thirstiest.nnlunch was covered with pizzas, chips and sausage rolls and despite the huge amount of people was prepared quick, hot and very tasty. The peri peri chicken pizza was delish.nnGo the checks!
Fantastic facilities and environment, with a friendly and welcoming community.nnPrograms for all levels and an excellent June long weekend tournament experience for junior players.
Excellent venue. Outdoor hockey and indoor stadium for powerchair soccer, hockey, volleyball. Several disabled parking. Could be more as busy carpark. Great cafe and bar. Available for private functions.
The National Hockey Centre run by Hockey ACT has three field pitches featuring artificial turf, player boxes and spectator seating. There's a fully licensed cafe Pick Up Stix Kitchen & Bar and ample car parking. The centre also has an indoor hockey facility, gym and is home to the Just Hockey shop, which stocks everything you think of, even self-mould mouthguards just ask the cafe for a cup of hot water for kids with braces. Hockey ACT runs juniors, schools, seniors and masters hockey competitions and provides well-trained umpires for each match. The facilities are starting to look a little tired so hopefully there's a revamp in the planning.
