Absolutely amazing! This has been on my bucket list since I was a child and it was everything I could have imagined. The set and farm was breathtaking. If you are a Lord of the Rings or Hobbit fan you have to go! You instantly feel like you are in Middle Earth as soon as you arrive at the set! They do such an amazing job at maintaining the set and the tour guides are so enthusiastic. Even if you aren’t a huge Lord of the Rings or Hobbit fan this is still a fun experience! The scenery is beautiful, the tour is fun, and the food and drinks are yummy! Plus, there are great opportunities for photos! The only thing that I wish that they would do differently is to have actors dressed up as hobbits throughout the tour and to allow more time during the tour. As a huge fan I wish that there could have been more time to appreciate the detail of each Hobbit hole and to take more photos without feeling rushed. If I ever make it back to New Zealand I’d happily take this tour again!

Amazing, came on a really nice day. Good visit for fans of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Must visit if in Auckland. My TripAdvisor review: Not just a fantastic day at Hobbiton, the trip there with Kiwi Fun Tours was great too! Group of 8 people, not crowded. On the way there we had a couple of lovely stops at lookout points, beagle cafe, and then into town at Matamata. We then got to the farm land where Hobbiton is and David from Kiwi Fun Tours got everything ready for us whilst we enjoyed the gift shop. Off to Hobbiton we went. 1 and a half hour guided tour, then half an hour at the Green Dragon Inn to enjoy a beer, cider or non-alcoholic drink which is included as part of the tour. Words can't describe the beauty so I will upload some photos. Me and my partner had a great day, enjoying the scenery. We were lucky, on the way there is was pouring, when we got there, not a cloud in the sky. We got lots of amazing photos. Thanks Kiwi Fun Tours! Definitely recommend and will see you in the near future.

For true fans of lord of the rings and the hobbit, the place is very beautiful but to pricey and bit disappointed by end of the tour. Its must visited but don’t go over whelmed or very excited as you are not missing a lot. Its way smaller then the movie set also not much to take apart from the small houses which you cant enter and the big farm which doesn’t have a lot yo offer. Try to go but with some discount if possible also summer is the best time or in the night.

It was a fairly good 1 and a half hour tour, especially if you are a fan of LOTR or the Hobbit (like everyone was saying). My daughter surely enjoyed it, as she plays around the hobbits houses. There’s only 1 house available for you to go in and take a photo on and you have to quick. Ending your tour with a beer was a good touch, though it would have been better if you have more time to relax. A great experience indeed and like what the guides kept saying, you are there to enjoy the place and take lots of photos. It’s not a place that you can go visit all the time as it is fairly expensive, though going to this place once is enough. Definitely a kid friendly place! Btw, we bought the Hobbiton wall clock and it ended up to be not working when we opened it at home. We left it now as a display and kinda no use at all and a waste of $25. Other than that, we enjoyed the experience!

I loved it And yes they rush you. But that's the only way they can accomadate so many people coming by everyday. Best would be to give out ear phones which walk you through. Fantastic scenery. I manged to push a stroller through the hills. Try the ginger beer Just take a lot of pics the place is magical I can't believe the movie is almost 20 years old
