Story

Located in Chatswood, Hirondelle Private Rehabilitation Hospital provides a home away from home to our patients. Our state of the art facility refurbished in 2014 features 53 patient beds, including both private and shared rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Hirondelle Private Hospital has been providing our community with rehabilitative care since 1987

Today Hirondelle has developed into a state of the art rehabilitation facility. Our flexible patient centred approach to rehabilitation and health care are specific to the individual needs and goals of our patients.

Our highly experienced team at Hirondelle work together to maximise the independence and recovery for each and every one of our patients. At Hirondelle we believe setting rehabilitation goals with our patients is an important part of a successful rehabilitation program. This may involve improving quality of life, maximising recovery and independence following orthopedic surgery, stroke, amputation, spinal cord injury, cardiac and/or other conditions.

Our services include physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietary, podiatry and social welfare. Our highly skilled rehabilitation consultants oversee the care of all admitted patients. Multidisciplinary case conference meetings are held on a weekly basis throughout patient stay to assess individual progress. Thus enabling the development of rehabilitation plans that promote continuity of care between patients, medical professionals the multidisciplinary team and nursing staff.

Our goal at Hirondelle is to provide a rehabilitation experience that promotes physical wellbeing, and the functional independence needed to perform daily living tasks. All of our patients must be assessed and identified to be medically stable before being able to safely participate in our rehabilitation programs.
