Went here from years 5-9. If you are high performing, the school is great, and provides so many opportunities, especially if you have family working at the school….including awards but if you aren’t as high performing, the school can sometimes neglect you. The stark contrast is alarming. I had a great experience myself, but i write honest reviews, and as a whole, i do need to mention this. Not great if you are neurodivergent. The facilities are amazing though. Do not recommend the rise program, i have moved school and the rise program honestly set me backwards.
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. When I spoke to one of the department head, I was met with condescending attitudes and blatant disrespect. They carried themselves with an air of entitlement that made it clear they have little regard for others, which is completely unacceptable, especially from individuals in leadership positions.nnWhat’s even more troubling is that this is supposed to be a Christian school, yet their behavior is far from the values they claim to represent. It’s unfortunate to see a place that should foster kindness and humility, giving Christians a bad name. This kind of conduct has no place in any school, let alone one that promotes itself as faith-based. I expected much better.
Hillcrest has been everything we have hoped for and expected for our three children's education experience which includes not just academics but also well being, positive character development, variety of co curricular activities and pathways for our now senior child. We have experienced Prep through to year 11 so 3 learning areas JLC, MLC and SLC as well as the online VLC model of learning this year. The standard of quick, high quality delivering of education during covid locks downs was of the highest quality I had heard of! This option of learning has extended into a VLC program which gives many students and families great flexibility around lifestyle and working requirements. It's been a positive experience for our daughter to take the year to learn via this model. Every year we've been at the school the school has invested major infrastructure developments which have improved the school environment and learning immensely. The teachers genuinely care and the additional, qualified and trained well being, full time staff provide an even deeper level of support. If you are looking for an innovative, well rounded, constantly improving school in all areas then Hillcrest provides this.
As a coeducational Baptist Christian school, it presents very well and has lovely grounds and facilities. It will cost approximately $106,000 for your first child's education from junior school to the completion of senior. Senior pathway subjects opportunities are a little less than other schools. VET involves off school training and teaching along with independent student learning periods in the school library not classroom based. Being a Baptist Christian school, this will be a formal part of the education framework in the teaching of the required Australian Education Curriculum. The best school is the one that best works for your child and yourself as parents. Lastly, it can be tricky with school pick up and drop off due to the geographical location. Delays can be experienced so allow for this in daily timetable.
Best school on the GC. We moved our kids here from another school and couldn't be happier. The values they teach, the kindness of all the staff and how much they care about your kids is amazing. My kids have never been so happy and love going to school each day. Very grateful to have found this school.
