Fantastic experience from Hillary’s. Contrary to many of the reviews below, our experience was superb. We ordered perfect fit Venetian blinds and got a much better price than any of the other blind shops we had quotes from in Nottingham. Elton came out and provided an excellent quote experience and gave us lots of options. We ordered within a week and the blinds were fitted within a few weeks - by Elton as well. An all round superb experience! And our blinds look fab too!
I like Hillary's they have fitted 3 shutters to my windows, which are of the highest quality. However, for their aftercare service, this is non existent. If you want help in taking the shutters down if you want to replace windows. Well they do not want to know even if you request to pay them. All other shutter companies I have been in contact with offers this service, except for Hillary's who are supposed to be a leading brand. Not impressed at all.
Never ever have I dealt with such an appalling company . They consider you to be the problem not their faulty goods . It took me 5 months 47 phone calls and 26 hours of my time to get them replaced as the fitter who had agreed with me they were not good enough was off ill . Well Hillary’s has made me ill having to deal with their shocking customer care . The new blinds were as bad as the 1st lot and also the fitter left damage to my sons walls . Having sent photos of the appalling quality of the Blinds and the damage caused to the walls today I received a email saying that they considered the blinds to be fine and offered me £50 as compensation for the damage walls . By law I am entitled for them to replace the Blinds again, as I the customer is not happy with them or have a total refund. If they chose to ignore my rights as the customer then I will take them to small claim court. I have never ever had such appalling service and customer care from a company. They consider you to be the problem when you will not accept their substandard product
Worst experience from Hilary’s. Paid £5,000 to get curtains and blinds done in our home. Representative fitted blinds poorly, and they got the complete wrong order for our curtains. Took over 3 months to get new ones fitted along with no shows on three different occasions. Do NOT spend a penny with Hilary’s. Quality is average but more so their customer service team are unhelpful. I asked several times for a phone call from a manager to resolve the situation and I never received one. Poor poor service. Save yourself the money & hassle!
It is really sad. This used to be a good company, but if you are going to charge these prices you need to good. Applauding service. Operative did not seem to know what he was doing. Voiles ended up too short. One of the brackets was wrong and then when a replacement was provided it was thrown over the gate and it was the wrong colour and second hand. We were left to plaster over holes he made. Customer services were very slow and it took 5 months to get a paltry £100 compensation on a botched £3.5k job. This company will be in receivership soon.
If I could give this no stars, I would. I ordered curtains and blinds for my new property 5 weeks ago, paying a £1,200 deposit which the sales advisor was very happy to take. Since that date no one at Hillary's has been able to give me a straight answer about what is happening with my order. I have had to email twice both emails not responded to, spoken on the phone a number of times each time given a different story as to why my order had not been progressed and been continually ignored by the sales advisor. I have now been told it will take 10 days for me to receive my money back having now had to cancel the order as no one had any idea when my order would be progressed. The customer service advisor I have just dealt with was rude and unwilling to help at all. Avoid this company at all costs. They are happy to take your money and then sit on it with no blinds and curtains in sight!
The company came to our place and said it was not possible to install new blinds. That was on November 28. He said he would send us an email and explain why it was not possible but we never heard back from him. When investigating further, the answer was that our windows were “oddly shaped”! Our windows are as standard as they come! Never going to use them again and neither should you!
I'm not usually one for writing on these review sites but. My experience with Hillarys is nota great one. We bought our house 6 years ago with Hillarys shutters throughout the entire house installed by the previous owners. We had a small mishap when a pice of timber fell and broke three of the slats at the bottom of one of the shutters in our sons room when having some carpentry work being done. when I asked if Hillarys could quote and come to repair these three small slats they said that as we weren't the 'Account Holders' and that they were over five years old our only option was to replace the entire set of shutters??? Bizarre and unhelpful. I appreciate we weren't the originally account holders for the shutters but having bought our house with them in I would assume we had the right to become the new account holders? Or should I get our previous owners to call Hillarys and make the appointment for us now that they live 400 miles away in a different part of the UK?? Not good, it seems they just want you to go the expensive way...
I'm sorry with this post, but I'm probably even more sorry to be Hillary's customer. I've been waiting for the curtain to be installed in my house for about 3 weeks. I talked to customer service on the phone 3 times and wrote 3 e-mails, but there is still no information or solution, by the way, I don't want to receive information anymore, I want a solution! It was not worth spending so much time on this issue, not being able to deliver a product I paid for and leaving your customer unsolved. You say the person who will make up the curtain is in the hospital! You can't make it wait that long, this is not the right trade, its nonsense, you made me suffer! Does Hillary not have any other employees? I reached out to you because you should know about this situation and that you should correct the process that caused it. I will never shop with Hillary again and will report this verbally and in writing whenever and wherever possible.
Don’t recommend to go with this company for your blinds at all. Completely misleading information from their side and I had a massive problem with one of my blinds that they are not willing to resolve. Their customer service and account management service is none. Ask them to show you a picture of how it looks after the blind is up before purchasing! Or you will have 7 cords going across in your skylight window which is ridiculous!! Worse blinds ever!
