Mission

Highview Christian Community College was established in 1974 to provide a genuine and accessible choice of secondary education in Maryborough and District that aimed to develop all aspects of growth in each individual student, and each student's relationships with other people, with society, and the natural environment. A priority was for the school to typify a Christian community in action. Striving together, all members of the community would `rise to God' and grow towards wholeness.

As a former black woman, now aboriginal my son had experienced a lot of bullying. We are all for jesus and that school was full of gay men. One time my sons hijab got pulled off and stomped on by Ms. Scash
Apart from a quality education, from any good school I would expect they teach, as well as actually themselves adhere to the values of human decency, tolerance, inclusiveness and fairness. Instead this institution seems to prefer to harass and traumatise perfectly lovely students who have done absolutely nothing wrong, and by all accounts are excellent students, because of the way they have to due to ethnicity wear their hair! Nothing like teaching girls early that looks are everything, and that if they don't fall in line, they are worthless and easily discarded. And this is meant to be "Christian"? Utterly shameful in this day and age.
I recently had the privilege of attending Highview, and I can confidently say that it has been an exceptional experience. As a former student, I want to share my positive review of this outstanding educational institution. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The faculty and staff at Highview truly care about the well-being and success of their students. They go above and beyond to create a nurturing environment that fosters personal growth, academic excellence, and character development. One of the key strengths of Highview is its dedicated and highly knowledgeable teaching staff. The teachers are not only experts in their respective subjects but also passionate about imparting knowledge to their students. They make learning exciting, engaging, and relevant, going beyond the textbooks to encourage critical thinking and creativity. The support and guidance they provide extend far beyond the classroom, and they are always available to answer questions, offer assistance, and help students achieve their goals. The curriculum at Highview is comprehensive, well-structured, and designed to prepare students for their future endeavors. Whether it's the challenging honors and advanced placement AP courses or the diverse range of extracurricular activities, every aspect of the school's offerings aims to provide a well-rounded education. The school encourages students to explore their interests and passions, fostering a sense of self-discovery and personal growth. In addition to academics, Highview places a strong emphasis on character development and community involvement. They promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empathy, nurturing responsible citizens who are actively engaged in making a positive impact on society. The school organizes various community service initiatives, clubs, and organizations, allowing students to develop leadership skills and contribute to meaningful causes. The facilities at Highview are top-notch, providing a conducive learning environment for students. Whether it's the well-equipped classrooms, modern science laboratories, or state-of-the-art sports facilities, the school ensures that students have access to the resources they need to excel in their chosen pursuits. Another aspect that sets Highview apart is the strong sense of camaraderie and school spirit. The student body is diverse, vibrant, and supportive, creating an inclusive and uplifting atmosphere. From spirited sports events to engaging cultural celebrations, there are numerous opportunities for students to come together and forge lifelong friendships. Dont forget to like and subscribe
Avoid this school at all costs, so extremely traditional and have the “old school” way of learning. With the recent bad publicity of this school, it’s really no wonder that this has happened. If anything, I’m surprised this school hasn’t been in the news way more and a lot sooner too! Avoid, avoid, avoid. Have heard too many horror stories from this school, it’s unlikely anything good will come from it. Scary to think where your kids are being brought up..
I have read with incredulity the shameful treatment of two girls of African descent regarding their braided hair. In 2022 within an educational setting in Australia one would expect better.
Amazing school, my son has excelled at this school. The teachers are always willing to help. My son now wants to go to uni. My younger children will go here too. Keep up the great job.
If you haven't read about the schools racist views, just Google it. I was so embarrassed to see this happening at a school in Victoria. Shame on you all who are so ignorant to culture. It's disgusting
Do NOT send your kids to this school! they will be treated unfairly especially if they aren't of an Anglo-Saxon background
Honestly the teachers don't care as long as they get paid also like the principles needs to get a life
other than everything falling apart and dodgy with average teaching it's a pretty good school.
