A real hidden gem! Husband and I were passing through Dannevirke looking for somewhere to have dinner, we called 10 minutes out, got a table and had the most outstanding meal! The staff were very attentive and warm. We'll definitely be back.
Wow! Who would've "thunk" there would be a restaurant of this calibre in Dannevirke! A very talented and passionate family run business. The BEST food, lovely environment, staff and music. We won't pass through Dannevirke at dinner time ever again without stopping! Thank you all for the treat! Keep up the good work! Vegetarian options: The caponata was "to live for" nothing is worth dying for!...fire roasted tomatoes, charred aubergine, kalamata olive in a rich, velvety sauce generously served over pappardelle topped with fresh grated pecorino and whipped feta on the side. so divine!. Dietary restrictions: The menu offered dairy free, gluten free, vegan options
I just dined here with my hubby, the place was booked solid but the hostess/owner went above and beyond, was so accommodating that she had a spare table we got to sit at! the food was absolutely divine, cocktails were excellent, but have to say it was the hostess that made the place truly special for us. thank you so much for the experience! next time we will book, but we will be coming back!
I don't eat out in cities so I can't compare this to a city restaurant But, I enjoy eating out during my NZ travels and this was a great dining experience. Excellent food, service and ambience. Dining in the vault was cool. I put The Bistro as one of my top 3 favourites. Go check it out.

What a fantastic evening, the Bistro was fully booked and bustling! And they were short staffed! The cocktail -in honour of the late HRH very cool! Our meals, they didn't disapoint! Delish!! Thank you for a fabulous might!!
