Popped in for a takeaway coffee and lunch on a work trip to Benalla. My server and all the other staff were lovely, really friendly and happy. I was unsure what to get but decided on a bacon foccacia and it was delicious. Coffee was great too won't hesitate to go back next time im passing through Benalla
Great country bakery with excellent bread for sale, coffee and sandwiches, pies and quiches. Perfect stop on the road trip to Melbourne. Great Aussie sweet treats like caramel slices and lemon tarts as well.
I ordered a lamb and rosemary pie I wanted the lanb and Guinness 'special' pie, they had sold out before 12pm.nnThe service was good when I felt the pie the lovely young woman asked if it was hot enough, when I said no she said she'd heat it up.nnWhen I received my pie it was nice and hot, the only good thing about it. Both top and bottom pastry was undercooked, I'm a baker by trade so yes I know what it's supposed to be like. The filling went the other way, overcooked with little gravy and not a hint of rosemary and the lamb was dry. Their sandwiches looked ok from what I saw other people ordering.nnI didn't bother with the sweets as the pie was so disappointing. It's a very dark bakery but kept clean from what I could see. I would not come here again unfortunately.
